Re: Slash feat. Chris Stapleton - "Oh Well"

The riff/rhythm section really sucks, especially compared to original. Tempo is a bit staid, and it's just kind of clunky. But the vocal is cool, and Slash really gets it doing in the solo/jam section. Overall, I'll give this a B.

Thought you'd say that but since you put UTG #2 anything was possible. UTG is a filler/skip track imo. 3-chord Jon Lord vamp that doesn't really go anywhere. So many other great songs on that album... Nobody's Home, Mean Streak, Hungry Daze... Nobody's Home I like, but the other two don't move me. ...

I'm glad. Always like podcasts with producers, and you tended to ask good questions. For a few years, I regularly looked for it, and I've missed it while it was gone. This is good news. Thank you.

AFAIK they started with Swedish drummer Hempo Hildén (who also was in John Norum's solo band) and did some photos and demos with him, and for the album and tour they had another Swede, Mikkey Dee. Band needs one of the members to be MD and make the hard decisions when occasionally a cancelation or postponement is needed. That person needs to have the cajones to do what's right.

I wish Andy would actually release something. I have kids that like Scooby Doo, so I have heard a lot of the stuff he has done for the various shows/movies. Both are excellent, but Spilt Milk is more consistent and also flows well lyrically from start to finish. And I prefer the sound quality of that one. I do like Jason Falkner's solo albums quite a bit, where he also gets in much more guitar work. I love Author Unknown and Can You Still Feel. Too bad...

I was kind of disappointed when I got the Imperial Drag album. Some of the demos from that album were leaked out almost a year before the album came out and a lot of the ones I liked didn't make it to the album. The demos were released on Weed, some file share service, about 10 years later. You can...

Enjoyed both, but STP only sporadically. And they could be kind of bad when not on. In the original run, AIC was spectacular every time out except perhaps the S/T album, which still had some really good moments. And Jerry Cantrell's first two solo albums are as good as AIC, making that a very strong...

Media Overkill and We Let It Rock are the only two good songs on the whole record. Even worse, it sounded worse than their prior 4 albums despite using the same producer. I remember being profoundly bored with this one as an 18-year-old.

Kansas in a small bar in about 1990 or 1991. Steve Walsh was . . . energetic.

David Lee Roth in a sort of dance club like place (essentially a really big bar) in 1994. It was actually quite a good show, though.
