Re: The NFL Thread

I thought Bellichek's press conference on Saturday was absolutely hilarious. "You wanna talk about footballs? Ok...here you go I'll talk about fuckin' footballs." He went on for an eternity. It was almost like he was fillibustering. By the time he was halfway through a dissertation on the...

I'm surprised Belichick hasn't fire the ball boy yet: how did that little fucker miss that one ball?

Re: NFL INVESTIGATING PATRIOTS FOR POSSIBLY USING DEFLATED B

Deflated footballs are easier to throw and catch, especially in the stormy conditions that threatened the area. Unless you happen to be Andrew Luck and his receiving corp, apparently. Actually, this is the story that has yet to break: Patriots Being Investigated For Inventing Super Gloves That Uniq...

Agreed. I might take that, but I refuse to beat on sports that I care about -- it destroys the fun of the game for me, and the NFL is insanely unpredictable in any event.

Re: The NFL Thread

Seahawks' play today actually gives me hope that the Patriots can pull it off.
Patriots played nearly flawlessly and the Seahawks are EXTREMELY lucky to even be going to the superbowl.

Should be a good superbowl ..... then again, I thought the same thing last year.

Re: The NFL Thread

It would likely put an end to many debates. As painful as it is, it would vault Brady past Montana. I still think what Montana accomplished is simply amazing - 4-0 in the Super Bowl with ZERO INTs in any of them. I'm a Brady guy but as years go on I hope history doesn't minimize how impressive Mont...

Re: The NFL Thread

Good God how I want to see Wilson vs Brady in the Superbowl. [/color] Same here. Watching Brady go against that secondary would be great. Aaaaaaand if he were to win and look good doing it, well that should finally put an end to the Manning/Brady debate. It would likely put an end to many debates. ...

Overheard a stat this morning. A. Luck is 0-3 vs Brady In the 3 meetings the Pats have outscored Colts 140-44 :o There is a first time for everything. You've even made some coherent posts as of late. For all of this "unbeatable Pats/evil empire" bullshit the Patriots have choked - a lot -...

Re: The NFL Thread

I'm feeling Pats and Hawks. As much as I'd like to see Brady win his fourth I'm not sure that Seattle can be stopped. Their defense is giving up 8 points a game over their last five or six games. That's just insane in today's NFL. I agree 100%. Seattle is just in another class of football right now...

Seattle vs Packers - Do the Packers have a chance? Any predictions? I hope he's halfway healthy, I look forward to Rodgers against that Monster D. Belichick schooled Harbaugh. Deception! He cheated! Suck it Ravens -- can't believe the whining. The Evil Emperor is the best coach in the NFL - NO CONTEST. Seahawks look unstoppable. And what about Dez running on the field without his helmet on to argue with the official? That's a 15 yard penalty right there. Fuck off Machado. yeah, how they didn't flag fucking Dez is beyond me -- and can you imagine his epic meltdown if they had flagged him and given Detroit a first down? (not...

Re: The NFL Thread

Walsh, Shula, and Lombardi didn't have to deal with the salary cap or free agency. no, but those guys dealt with strikes and other shit, Shula had to deal with losing 3 of his best players to a rival league right after winning 2/3 super bowls, completely changed that era and in 30+ years of coachin...

I simply could not believe that sack celebration near the end of the game. What the fuck was that? So typical Raiders: undisciplined, selfish, and, most importantly, incredibly STUPID. How in the world can you do that with time running out?

I saw Brady in person for the first time last night. He bleeds ice water. Holy crap is he good. He made Luck look like a clown. He would lose the locker room for good? A bit dramatic don't ya think? Exactly. The coach shouldn't be saying shit about the superbowl at this point. He should say "I believe this team can continue winning with Drew. He is ready for the challenge and we can, and will, all step up." If he ...

Re: Manning VS Brady

If I'm starting an NFL team and I could have my pick of one of those guys in his prime, I'm picking Manning. Brady is brilliant, but looking at their respective team's results without them is a pretty good indicator of which one is better IMO. well, that also speaks to how much the Colts based thei...

Too close to call in many ways, but Brady seems to have done a whole more with a whole lot less in terms of receivers and offensive playmakers. So, I give him the slight edge. That said, I have to say until the past few weeks, I thought Manning looked a lot better than Brady was convinced that Manni...

Fucking Belichick. I don't know how he does it, but somehow, he got that disaster of a team that barely showed up in KC on Monday night to play light's out, well-executed football on a short week against a rested bye week Bengals team that looked to be a terrible match against the Pats. He seems to ...

The Pats are done. They've got line problems like Machado has head problems. Holes that can't be plugged. I don't know. Maybe. It looks dire, but I could see the rookie center Stork stepping up. Solder and Vollmer are certainly much better players than they have shown so far. Where they are stuck a...

I think the Baker hit was somewhat chickenshit only because he was laying into a quarterback who clearly wasn't going to do anything meaningful on the play. That said, what makes it illegal? First, not sure it was a "late" hit, because it looks to me like it happens just as the runner is b...

at this point I should be disqualified from participating any further in this league for ineptitude and bad decisions. Witness this week's glory: 2. Traded Danny Woodhead for Steve Smith. Smith is a monster yet again. Woodhead fractures his leg on Sunday. And I almost declined the trade. Figured Wo...
