Re: The part of Geddy Lee's book I'll probably think about for the rest of my life

When the British came to liberate the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, the prisoners were in disbelief because they assumed the Nazis won and the rest of the world was dead. It was the only way they could rationalize nobody coming to save them. Ged told this story to Neil Peart, who wrote "Re...

I went to that wooden temple thing. Incredible sight to see just standing there on the beach and all built by hand, all wood, no nails and screws. Also went to that big buddha, pretty cool as well. The hyper commercialized sex industry I was less enthusiastic about, not because I am a saint, but bec...

Welcome to communism. To be fair I assume the "current residents" weren't those who took the houses from the Auschwitz survivors. The usual after the war was that the Communist governments handed out houses left by escaping or killed Nazis. This was in the netherlands, not in a communist ...

Jendell Productions LLS bought the home in November 2000, for $650,000. The company then signed the house over to Frehley Feb. 19, 2004, according to the Westchester Clerk's Office. This is interesting. He bought the house from his own company? I am assuming Jendell Productions is his company, the ...

Re: Paul Di’Anno Australian tour disaster “I’ll punch you in the face”

I thought Steve Harris bailed him out for medical bills a few years ago? Why would he? DiAnno will get his medical from the NHS, being British and living in the UK. There are no medical bills for him. If he is not living in the UK, all he has to do is fly there. Massive NHS waiting lists, though. 3...

It sure is a hindrance not having to worry about making a living and getting record deals and tour slots solely because of who your dad is.
Fact is without his dad, he wouldn't have any sort of business. The world of is full of guys who can play a instrument well and play mediocre music....

It was so boring. Every song was drawn out to 10 minutes and in between he kept droning on about New Jersey and brotherhood like he was Springsteen.

On the Bark at the Moon tour Carmine Appice wanted to intervene when Ozzy was knocking Sharon around at a roadside restaurant. KISS in the early 70's. They made it seem they were huge but they were running on fumes before ALIVE! broke. Aucoin's credit card maxed out. Paul's "hole in Bill's shoe story" puts it in perspective. Even when they were really huge in 76-78, a lot of it was still smoke and mirrors. Especi...

Re: "In 1978, Kiss had retail sales of $117 million"

It's very normal for a company that does $100 million a year to be left with a couple million in profit. Net profit = revenue – cost of goods sold – operating expenses – interest – taxes. Example: Amazon's net profit is 3.36%, and they are big enough to secure the most favorable deals on the planet...

After Slide It In and before WS '87 David Coverdale was in debt $3 million to Geffen Records and was doing anonymous New York Seltzer jingles for extra cash. Kiss went broke in the 80s because they kept spending like it was still the 70s. KISS the company was living record advance to record advance...
