Re: AC/DC live in Gelsenkirchen right now
Why would you want to see such a previously virile and potent band full of wild feral energy reduced to this? Seriously. They sound like absolute dogshit, the stage is boring, corporate, dated, the setlist is utterly predictable, ticket prices are insane, what's left of the band are reduced to a sh...

Re: People who get called "underrated" so much that they probably aren't.
UFO Thin Lizzy Really? I don't think UFO is underrated at all, in any incarnation! They always rock! And Thin Lizzy? Really? Jailbreak is one of the best albums of all time! There's no one on this planet that doesn't love The Boys Are Back In Town, and nobody who doesn't know it! And the rest of th...

let's not act like Phil has ALWAYS been there. He wasn't there for their commercial peak from 1983 to 1994 Wasn't most of the time Phil was away their commercial low point? Between the peak of HTH-BIB-FTATR and the revival with Razors Edge (which he wasn't on but still?) But yes, legal issues plus ...

I give the nod to 1980 as the greatest year in popular music, and I was 16 years old. The greatest year in popular music is always the year when you were 16... That would be 1999 for me. Definitely not! Lol Ok, it may be a generational thing then. If your 16th year was between say 1962 and 1992, it...

Re: 1984 is the greatest…
The 80s weren't all that great. Instead of ludes and free love, we got the War on Drugs and AIDS. Fuck Reagan. Add to that the Cold War in full swing and the post- Harrisburg/ Chornobyl nuclear panic. Not that great a decade but at least the economy was better than in the 70s. That said, those were...

Wait, what? Is that what goes for great sounding Brian these days? Maybe it's the recording but it sounds like he lost most of his power. Not comparing to 80s Brian, big difference even from 2010.

She’s Catholic and eats squid, octopus and lamb every week … she also likes custard … but no bacon. She also hates Ukraine. There is a love/hate thing with Ukraine in Poland. In general, Ukrainians are rednecks who come to take our jobs and women and should just sod off back to the USSR, but now wh...

Not really. Seafood is not a Polish thing. Pork and beef it is. Only Jews and Muslims don't eat pork in Poland.
Also, Polish food is really bland. Like German food without spices.

Yeah, in my experience Zeppelin was never that big here in Europe (as compared to how they were received in the US). Deep Purple and Black Sabbath seemed a lot more popular than Zeppelin. I think that is the case here even today... I think Zep was huge in Europe too in the 70s, too young to remembe...

Re: Bands you would pay to see, but not travel for
I've seen most of the bands/artists i want to. And they are not getting any better live! This. But if I have to list some that are still active/touring, I would pay to see Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Def Leppard. Depending on setlist and recent performances of course. The ones I would travel for....

Around 700 and counting. Had a few years where I almost didn't buy cds due to streaming and downloads and got rid of some cds but noticed I listened a lot less to music using Deezer and Spotify so I went back to buying cds. Had almost the same amount of vinyl but there I never really started buying ...

My wife is asian from the Philippines. Funny thing, she didnt believe when I told her India is part of Asia. She said she does not consider them asians. All I know is I saw them open for metallica and they got pelted with toilet rolls. Dutch Metallica fans couldn't give a fuck about Bonhams kid. Yeah, for European metalheads in 1989 Zeppelin was a half forgotten dinosaur band like Uriah Heep or Bad Company. Zeppelin didn't tour or release new mater...

Asian is a race, Oriental refers to a fucking rug 😀 Asian means from Asia, Oriental means from the Orient, European means from Europe. Neither is a race. Despite what I wrote earlier, Asia and the Orient are the same, the Orient apparently also includes the Middle East and the subcontinent. At leas...

It’s funny Gene and Paul always got shit all the time for going out with half a band but Heart have been doing it for years too. They just seem to get “survivor...

To be clear, Revenge got a proper Vinyl release in Europe and South America, and then the US release you're referring to. Alive III looks like got a South American release and didn't hit Europe. DORO - He produced her first solo album and was the main reason I even bought it . One might think Doro's career peaked way before her SECOND solo album with Gene and MELONHEAD as producers. It certainly didn't peak with her first, it was a bit of a bomb and that's probably why Mercury called in $i...
