I haven’t seen the doc. Does it go into any details about how they got in touch with Desmond Child and then wrote together their biggest hits in Richies moms basement?

That’s the most intriguing part of their career for me.

Didn’t Desmond Child have complete control over this?

Wrote all the songs, brought in heavy hitters like Jon BonJovi and Dianne Warren.

He was probably getting a lions share of the publishing too.

Good album!

Loved those heart albums. Yea, Ann was a basket case over her weight. I recall Nancy having to calm her down off panic attacks onstage. Hasn’t Ann lost a lot of the weight now? Another one was Paula Abdul. I recall a couple of videos where she was ‘stretched’. Also, the Blues Travelers band scripted...

Lindsay Buckingham doesn’t use a pick either. Fantastic player and he has the songs too.

John 5 can rip without a pick too.

Unlike sports Hall of Fame, it doesn't mean they were the best of the best or changed the game. It's like a beauty pageant. Maybe, but even the Pro Sports Halls of Fame are already "Halls Of Pretty Good". Harold Baines? Kirby Puckett? Joe Namath? Yes, Namath. His career stats are fucking ...

Is he? A solo show. I would recommend going. I saw him a couple of weeks ago. Didn’t know what to expect and I usually don’t like instrumental shows. Eric Johnson was another show I enjoyed. He plays a lot of different guitars, banjos, ukuleles, bass and more. Lots of different styles. He doesn’t j...

Agreed.

And no Phil Collins? That’s ridiculous. He had more Top 40 hits than anyone else the entire decade of the 80s.

Unfortunately at this point, if the singer is the cause of all these cancellations- you’ve got to move on from him. I wonder how long the bad is going to keep him. I wonder if they knew about the potential risks of this when they hired him. It’s not like the original band members are young. They hav...

GnR started out raw as fuck and far from polished. Now they are the definition of safe, overly processed crap. "Evolving" is not what this is. This is Axl surrounded by a bunch of people too afraid to tell him this really sucks. Exactly. The emporor has no clothes. I can’t believe Slash a...

I'll go along with the basic premise of this thread. Guns n' Roses is the ultimate "greater-than-the-sum-of-their-parts" band. As soon as they made it big, they dismantled the main thing going for them (chemistry) piece by piece. They all released solo albums (and ChiDem is definitely Axl...

I think as we’ve all aged, new music doesn’t have the same impact. We reminisce about the old tunes and albums. Motley could put Too Fast for Love today in their 60s and it wouldn’t resonate the same way as when we were 16. Music was about our lives at the time just as much as it was about the tunes...

Lazy or they can’t write anything, let alone good. Izzy was a bigger influence on the band than anyone thought, I think.

Or gotten so uncomfortable you considered stopping? Played outside today - 2 hours solo show. We have a heat advisory here in Chicago - musta been 105 index, very humid. Soaking wet after only setting up. Drank lots of water, had a fan, was under an umbrella - still felt woozy, couldn’t focus, etc. ...
