Re: Heart is headlining arenas????

You know my friend, Bob Sacamano, he saw Heart in Chicago. An arena! And it was packed. Packed! Full configuration too.

Sure, there were a few empty patches here and there, but it had to be 10,000 people.

He was shocked.

Screw the rest of it.

Some descendent will sell off the demos "as is" long after most Van Halen nerds who'd care about 'em are dead.

I was getting hooked on hard rock in '87-'88. So this was my introduction to AC/DC. Thought they were some C-level band not worth caring much about.

Re: Disco-ee songs by rock bands

You literally said "Girl's Got Rhythm and Renegade in no way have anything disco in them.". A four in the floor drum beat is literally the hallmark of disco, and is the reason the OP heard them as having a disco sound to them, even if they didn't realize it. You can disagree that they're ...

I don't get the premise. You're acting like he was balding in the "Jump" era and suddenly added hair pieces.

Looks fine to me...

We can all agree that "Nothing Can Keep Me From You" is a steaming turd. Yet I'm sure if I looked it up on YouTube, there would be nothing but endless praise in the comments section by fans in foreign countries - plus the random person saying this was the favorite song of some dead relati...

Re: Crue’s Angela

Apparently it was only released as a single in Japan and didn't do much. No video. No push. Didn't help that the band was falling apart around this time and never did a tour (outside the festival dates) for the greatest hits album, which would've basically been an extension of the Feelgood tour. Th...

Kiss happens to have three of 'em... "I Was Made For Lovin' You" "I Love It Loud" "Crazy, Crazy Nights" Sometimes less really is more. You Love Me To Hate You has a very tasty short solo too. That song should've also been the single after "Forever."

I didn't get the impression he's racist; he just seemed like a dumb drunk guy. Pretty much my take. He's so much like Trump, it's ridiculous. They've both gone so far into one direction to stay "on brand," who knows what's real or not anymore. He had his chance to shape whatever he wanted...

I've shifted toward natural/low intervention wines over the years, which tend to be lighter in body. And usually European. Whenever somebody hands me a glass of American wine at a party or something, it tastes so thick and heavy - full of sugar, chemicals, and other additives. It's also WAY more li...

Re: "Ride The Wind" - Was this absolute peak Poison?

Nah, I'd say "Something to Believe In" was their last big peak. "Ride the Wind" was just a slight drop, but still a drop nonetheless. Then the real downhill slide began with "Life Goes On". To clarify what I meant ... "Ride the Wind" was the very last moment ...

Great question. Love stuff like this. Cheap Trick - "Don't Be Cruel" comes to mind, although Bun E. Carlos is smacking the hell out of those things... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-oYFEXScEU Not exactly "rock" but I thought George Michael's "Kissing a Fool" had bru...

"Ride The Wind" - Was this absolute peak Poison?

Hear me out. Poison was riding high on album #3. Had a couple top-5 singles with "Unskinny Bop" and "Something To Believe In"... Then they released the "Ride The Wind" video while on the road. Huge tour. Huge video. But I think this is the moment they started to roll d...

I think pieceofme knows 1987 was my year. Having my parents drive my 13-year-old ass around while I played Slippery, Crazy Nights, and Girlsx3 on the car stereo. Looking back, that Motley Crue album was lewd as fuck, but it was "okay" because they didn't swear. Although I always turned do...

Going off on a tangent here, but did anyone blast social disease really loud the first time they played the record so their parents could hear. And then feel awkward due to the intro. I reckon this happened to Mister Freeze. 100%. I remember my dad driving my friends and I around. We played Slipper...

At least a few of these people are media guests or crew - especially the singles who aren't wearing Kiss swag. Bands like Kiss have handlers who bring them enough people for these meet-and-greets to feel important. As bored as they look, Gene and Paul would be truly sour if they showed up backstage...
