Re: Original Chicago killing it in 1974
Really like that clip. They were really solid - a few good albums, some timeless songs, and a reputation as a great live band - until Kath died. Peter Cetera was an essential part of the band for Chicago's classic years, plus got them a few monster hits in the early 80s when they turned into a pop b...

Re: Were the Stones ever as huge as Metallica are today ?
Been on a stones kick lately . Been watching a lot of Stones live videos . Such an amazing band . Each of them with a distinct personality who brought something unique to the table. Looking at the The stage setup , production , etc… it’s like they were almost as huge as Metallica are today . Almost...

Re: PHILIPPINES ... Anyone on here every been there? It's on the Radar next... going back to Thailand in Jan.2024
Most people in the Philippines speak English, many of them very well. They like basketball more than soccer, which is probably unique in Asia. More people with firearms too. Like Thailand, lots of nightlife options, many of which are of the dodgy variety. Both places have good beaches, though I'd gi...

Re: How has Back In Black sold 25 million copies in the USA?
One way is dorks like me buying like 5-6 copies. LP, Cassette, CD, re-mastered CD, DVD-A etc etc. That's right. It doesn't hurt AC/DC, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Eagles and Zep sales when some of the same people have bought multiple versions of these albums, either because they want a newer or up...

Neil Peart in Rush. This is the correct answer. /thread this is the correct reply to the correct answer /thread thread That's probably the best answer. Here's a few more contenders: Bruce Dickinson joining Iron Maiden, David Gilmour joining Pink Floyd, Mick Taylor joining the Stones, and Lindsey Bu...

Most of the songs from Beggar's Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street would be contenders.

Re: Jann Wenner cancelled from RNRHOF
The comments Wenner made in that interview were idiotic and obviously offensive to a lot of people, and there was no way he was going to survive that kind of self-inflicted stupidity in 2023. I've never liked the guy and I'm glad he's gone. I don't think his comments are an accurate reflection of ho...

I wouldn't discount visa issues. (Canada is tough on DUI convictions, but not so much on drug possession, so maybe this is more of an issue for the United States? It wasn't just some drug possession, he put out a hit for murder for chrissake and Canada still let him in to record the album.... Saw a...

Re: No Phil Rudd at Power festival
I saw AC/DC in '91 with Chris Slade drumming and they were still great. I prefer Phil's drumming and considering he was back for the last album I kind of thought he'd be here for this show. I wouldn't discount visa issues. (Canada is tough on DUI convictions, but not so much on drug possession, so m...

second song "Time" released  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIDFxI-hYqw Listened to this a couple of hours ago. His new version of "Time" is better than his take on "Money". Unfortunately, that isn't saying much. I'm a big fan, but this is far from great. Maybe...

Re: Producers you can't stand because of their signature sound
I love Tom Petty, but I can't stand the sound of the Jeff Lynne-produced albums. The drum sound and layered vocals on Full Moon Fever drive me up the wall same sound on George Harrison’s “cloud 9” I absolutely love both albums. Same here. You can also hear Jeff Lynne's production touch on the Wilbu...

It is a good album. Most of the songs are solid and a couple of them are classics. The stripped down production is something I like about the album. Purple is their album I think is really overrated.

love that song and video. Just the drum intro is iconic and worth the price of admission. Agreed with both of these statements. Don't know what crack OP is smoking, but "Hot For Teacher" rules, and for anyone who disagrees, I only have this to say: https://media0.giphy.com/media/xThta3L3c...

The album doesn't do that much for me, but I saw them live in early 2000 and the Risk songs - maybe three or so - were good.

Terrible singles for the past quarter century or so has ruined the Billboard singles charts. Streaming has made the problem worse, but good singles had already become few and far between before streaming.

Bringing back Sambora as a co-lead vocalist/backing vocalist would be a great idea, not to mention his guitar playing. (Keep Phil X by all means and let them share the leads.) The fans would love it and it would be a great way to wrap it up. (And, for JBJ, Sambora and the band, a fat payday.) Making...
