Re: Tribute Bands

benny doro from black diamond and ssik did a damm near perfect paul. Based on all of the videos I’ve seen he looked OK, but did not have Paul’s moves or mannerisms down really and sounded absolutely nothing like him. I know of zero great Paul Stanley impersonators. he does some pretty good prancing...

Re: Tribute Bands

Aussie(and Brit) Pink Floyd are the high water mark for tribute bands. They’re next level. These are the bands I think of whenever the topic of an official Kiss touring band without original members comes up. I believe it’s doable. The thing about KISS tributes is that no one, and I mean NO ONE eve...

I saw them a few times back in the mid-90s and loved it. Especially since even though I was a KISS fan since 77 I didn’t get to see them love until COTN. This was pre-reunion so it was cool to “see” the original show.

Re: Tribute Bands

I love (good) tribute bands, personally. I seen a ton and some are meh and some are phenomenal. I’ve seen Australian Floyd Many times and they are absolutely top notch. Nothi at all to do with listening to new music. If you loved bands from 40-50 years ago, what are ya gonna do? Watch a scab version...

Re: When KISS Really WERE Hotter Than Hell...Winterland 1975 (franKENstein Redux)

Another great job on this - THIS is Kiss. Hoping you have time to do a Destroyer/R&RO show down the road, and a Dressed to Kill/Alive! show. The Houston ‘76, Jersey City ‘76 & Anaheim Detroit ‘77 are all a no-go since they are owned by private collectors. Not sure about MSG. That one might ...

Re: When KISS Really WERE Hotter Than Hell...Winterland 1975 (franKENstein Redux)

Yay! Keep up the good work! Any thought to doing the Rio show? Or is there not enough Creatures era stuff to be able to swap in better sounding stuff? Next is the Largo '79 Dynasty show, then Sydney '80. I'm working on Rio for after that, which will cover all of the make-up eras. I think there is a...

When KISS Really WERE Hotter Than Hell...Winterland 1975 (franKENstein Redux)

Video: The video has been upscaled to 1080p. The source was the KISSology version. I did a shot-by-shot adjustment to the entire show. Since this was taped in B&W, I decided to approach as if it had been lit for B&W, with a more even brightness on the entire band. In order to correct for thi...

Any chance this thread was inspired by the “R.I.P. Mark Spiro…Any fans?” thread? It made me think of this guy when I saw it.

50th Anniversary of KISS' TV debut (franKENstein Redux version)

This video is KISS' first appearance on television. Most copies of this show look pretty rough and sound even worse. Since this was the very first time most people ever saw this new band called "KISS" and since it's the 50th anniversary, I thought I'd have a little fun trying to clean it u...

Even my cat approves. This is one of my actual cats (Ranger for his "mask"). Whenever I was watching/previewing the show he would come in and stare at the TV. Always during the drum solo too, haha. He even has Peter's makeup which prompted me to photoshop this. https:/...

Those are all owned by private 3rd parties, as far as I know, so I'm not messing with those (not 100% about Houston '76). Obviously, Cobo '76 with this same treatment (combining footage from all three nights) would be epic, and I did start on that months ago when I thought KISS owned those, but it'...

Winterland next, please. That one always sounded so good to me, I'll be very interested in what your alternate version changes it up to! It’s definitely one of the very best sounding original videos, but I’ve cleaned up (and beefed up) the sound quite a bit. Think of an (arguably) cleaner version o...

I'm not a Kiss fan and make fun of them plenty, but this is a very cool. Sounds and looks great.... cool way to spend your time. But why did you slow one of the songs down? Was this a preference thing or more due to a need to match up with alternate recordings? Thanks! “firehouse” is a song that se...
