Almost forgot about this one: Diddy (back when he was Puff Daddy) and Jimmy Page sampling "Kashmir" on "Come With Me" from the soundtrack to that late 90's Godzilla movie that bombed terribly:

Jeff Young tried out for Danger Danger before their first album came out & didn’t get the gig. So he lost out to Tony Bruno Rey? I've always liked his riffs. The S/T and the two Saraya albums have some good stuff on them. And of course Tony left in the middle of recording and got replaced by An...

"Over My Head", even with its repetitive lyrics, is my pick for their best song. The aforementioned "It's Love", "Summerland", and "Black Flag" are probably my next three favorites after that.

I had no idea that Hetfield was a huge fan of their 1st release - can't imagine him listening to "Smooth Up in Ya" without laughing. I'm fairly sure most of these thrash bands at some point or another have finally admitted to liking the hair metal acts of their day to a certain extent. Th...

I always think of 1988 as the commercial peak of hair metal. If you want an exact date: September 23, when it was half of the Billboard Top 10. https://www.billboard.com/charts/billboard-200/1988-09-23/ That week was also notable for looking ahead to the future with "...And Justice for All&quo...

"Rhythm of Love" is indeed a good first single. "Passion Rules the Game" and "Every Minute Every Day" are solid as well. It's not the Scorps' best album, but it's still fairly solid.

Not a Sludge band, but still a goddamned new wave rock classic. They were fully into the MTV era with the videos for “You Might Think”, “Magic”, “Drive”, “Hello Again”, etc. And the music is just so perfect and polished. Thoughts on this one, Sludgers?
