Bobby Gillespie quit as Jesus And Mary Chain's drummer and continued successfully with Primal Scream as a singer. Peter Gabriel did well after leaving Genesis. Karl Wallinger left The Waterboys and has done pretty well as World Party.

I saw them live on this tour. I had already seen G'N'R twice, but had missed STP when they played here. One of the main reasons to see VR was trying to see Weiland while he's alive. Well, the expected happened, but years later.

And the guy sat on the drum riser, jerking off! Jimmy gave him 20€. 😅
When I saw them they had 2 people, a man & a woman, come up & urinate their pants for $20.
At the same gig, their bass player pissed on the singer's head.

I don't know how Arttu and his girlfriend even make a living. In 2022 Arttu made 5 851 € and his girlfriend 12 026€ a year, which is like 2 to 4 months average wage here. Rich? Hell no!

Yes. At late 80's, mostly at Finnish trash metal shows, with bands like Stone and Airdash etc.

There's always something in press, him making porn, or getting punched by Til Lindman or marrying and divorcing his girlfriend or what ever. I think many people here don't even know him from other than yellow press.

They are still very good live, I saw them last summer. Strange but 3/4 of them have been in Hanoi Rocks too, at some point.

Broadcast- Heartbeat Paradise (Eagles-ish Finnish band, go figure)
Dave Lindholm- Moderni Hiljainen Musiikki (Sort of like Finnish Neil Young, who's made about 50 records, but this is the only one not on cd.)
Asko Raivio & Karisma (obscure Finnish record)

Songs that mention other artists?

Geddy Lee/Rush threads reminded me of Stereo by Pavement, which of course mentions Geddy Lee.

Couple other unusual ones:
In Cruiser by Red House Painters, Hanoi Rocks is mentioned.
Mark Kozelek's band after Red House Painters, Sun Kil Moon has a song called Glenn Tipton.

Never saw Warrant because Jani had an accident and they were replaced by Don Patrol as openers for DLR.
Same here. Warrant was replaced by Boycott (Finnish band) here, hugely disappointing.

Still it's Warrant for me, by far.

The only one I regret, was going to a Ramones show and being too drunk so they wouldn't let me in. After that I decided to not drink at shows, as it's a waste of money and time. That has held up pretty well for over 30 years. I'm glad I saw Ramones later on too.

There was a few when I was in the army in 92-93 (Pavement, Alice In Chains, STP, Warren Zevon, Pearl Jam), most of them were in clubs too! Other one I regret pretty quickly was when Soundgarden & Blind Melon etc. played in an arena here in 1995. I thought I'd catch them later, but Shannon Hoon w...
