Neither are these: http://www.rondomusic.com/as820whitewide.html

A little more blingy too for your money!

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...

Thinking about getting a "Chibson"..I know there was a thread about them..What was the general opinion?Worth $300? I have never played one. but Tracii Guns loves his. He says go to seller Jaja and ask a lot of questions. I take that to mean talk to him and tell him exactly what you want o...

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...

I think they are basswood right now. Other cheap woods used are agathis and paulownia. It's still a maple neck with a rosewood or bubinga fretboard in that neck of the woods. Cheap labor is an amazing thing!

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...

I got a Yamaha Pacifica off of Ebay; $83 shipped. It's the 012 made in Indonesia - still very nice. Candy apple red, rosewood board, HSS config. I'm not gonna mess with it, it plays and sounds damn good for an $83 guitar. Cranks with my little JCA20H head.

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...

I know they make the Drop Tune pedal, so I'm sure pitch shifting is their specialty. Most of my guitars have locking trems and while I know the pedals can do a lot of stuff that an actual trem won't, I enjoy using a real trem more for some reason. I don't use the trem near as much as I used to, but ...

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...

I didn't mean to imply he was trying to screw you; it's just standard business practice in the service industry. He might not say anything to you, but in addition to the labor money, techs like to make a few bucks on the parts too. He's probably not going to put any pressure on you, but if his price...

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...

Update: This might get a little expensive. Figured out the fret buzz is because the groove is cut too deep at the low E string so I gotta install a new nut anydamnway. Bone nut is a nice upgrade so fuck it, it'll be worth it. Also figured out the neck pickup problem is from a fucked up volume pot s...

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...

I really want to try and get close to a vintage Gibson PAF sound and the more I look at the "Antiquity" line, the more those seem to be what I'm looking for. I want the tone of this guitar to be a little warmer and more detailed on a clean setting than my other main humbucker guitar which...

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...

I never got to play a Falcon, but I always did wonder why they had TWO Strat copies in their lineup. In recent years I think the tables are turned and the Falcon is lower-line; of course they're both made in Indonesia now! The Predators come with 2 hums, backrouted, no pickguard, and licensed Floyds...

A USA Predator? Those are great! I had one several years back, paid $75 and it was sweet! Peavey really floated under the radar in the 80s! You scored a nice "Strat" there! Exactly... amazing! Currently $79 on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Peavey-Predator-Electric-Guitar-Red-USA-/1806...

Yeah, it's a modeler so I don't expect true tube response - I have tube amps anyway. Just thinking it would be cool and fun. The little Jet City head is fun too, but in a different direction. Does a few things really well but not that versatile. The Mustang does a lot of things PRETTY well but is no...

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...

No, but I'm thinking about the Mustang 150w stereo head. Only $299 and the demos sound really good on Youtube. I already have 2 Carvin 212 slant cabs and I think they'd go great with that head for a compact rig with great stereo separation, and light to carry too!

I don't blame you a bit for that! You'd still be waiting a long time anyway! If $100 extra meant delivery in a week that'd be cool, but to still wait nearly a month, may as well just tough it out.

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...

So my reverb took a shit in my Blues Junior...surprise surprise. Any recommendations on a replacement? The tank itself died? Might spray some contact cleaner into the RCA plugs and jacks, if it's set up that way, just to make sure the connection isn't just oxidized; that's common. If the tank is re...

Good luck with that. Although thankfully for youtube, you can make sure they can play before you drag your shit across town. What I wanna do, is find a drummer with one of those geeky electric kits. So we can jam at a volume that works with my champ. And really ElToro, you need to try one. They are...

Well he's NOT onstage, he's jamming at home with just a drummer, so unless they are trying to do a White Stripes kinda thing, it doesn't sound that serious. Most bands live usually only have 2-part guitar harmonies, and it's usually the guy who also plays rhythm who plays the second part. He has so...

Any idea why they stopped making it? Just guessing that Yamaha is not a big name in amplifiers generally. They probably thought a Soldano design would break them into the market and it didn't work out for them. Their guitars are superb IMO though, so why wouldn't the amp be too? I've heard great th...

You got it for a steal. Not for a Squier. I've had a Squier P bass for about 10 years and mine was $180 new. Squier guitars are horrible but the basses are a LOT of bass for the amount of money you pay. Always have been. I like that Tele Bass. Squier guitars are variable. I had a Korean Stagemaster...

anyone got anything new? I got a Jet City JCA20H recently. Pretty cool amp for only $249. Cranked it sounds kind of like a baby Marshall JMP with more gain, except that it is nicely dynamics sensitive and will go from semi-clean to crunchy depending on your pick attack. Prescence control goes WAY b...
