Good album. Not as good as the previous two, but a solid effort.

Slash is such a terrible songwriter
Pretty much all of his solo albums are by the numbers hard rock. He considers the first Snakepit a pretty good album. But he couldn't tell that he had come up with something great when he played the Sweet Child O Mine riff, he needed other people to tell him that. People want new GNR tunes, do they ...

Re: What’s Glenn Hughes’ best solo album ?
He has many great albums and it really depends what you're looking for. If you're more into AOR / 80s melodic hard rock, From Now On is your best option. Addiction is also an amazing album. It has some subtle grunge / alt rock influences and in that sense it's unique in the Glenn Hughes discography....

Destroyer is NOT the masterpiece they want you to believe. Detroit and King start it strong. As much as GoT is Gene's signature song, it sucks. Beth may have won a People's Choice, but it's a pussy ballad. I'm skipping over a lot, but the rest is a yawner. As a 5th grader, I thought the entire albu...

Has to be one of the worst songs I've ever heard. KISS have more than their fair share of garbage tunes, but this one is truly an abomination. If they gave a shit about their fans, they would never have put this on an album, not even a box set of unreleased tunes. Just horrible.

Most of the bands we discuss on here have become incapable of writing a hook. New GNR tune sucks. Dokken tune was a snoozefest. I bought the Freak Out album a long time ago and I dug it. Haven't listened to in in ages though. I've recently discovered Willie The PImp, that's a great song. Maybe I should check out some of his other stuff, but the size of his catalogue is daunting.

Was Jerry Garcia that famous?
I was watching a lecture by a Dutch academic who claimed that when he was working in the States in '95, pretty much everyone was talking about Jerry Garcia being dead.
I never looked much into the Dead. I don't think they ever had any hits? What made him so famous?

Unless his facial twitching at 0:15 is intentional, I'm guessing he either:
1) has Tourette's
2) snorted the entire band's cocaine supplies

I always thought he was a much better singer later on. He's excellent in the lower register. But on those early Soundgarden, I often find his singing rather grating. I just wish he'd stop fucking screaming all the time.
