I bought his book "Not Dead and Not for Sale" for 50 cents the week before he died. Interesting, light read that touched on some of his early years. Thanks for sharing this link.

Scott and STP were better than Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Soundgarden. The critics and music snobs dismissed them simply because their talent carried over into mainstream popularity. I can't even get thru Nevermind or Ten these days, but Purple and Tiny Music are classics

I remember when STP broke, everyone called them Pearl Jam clones, and that's why they were dismissed by critics and fans. I noticed early on that there was something different going on with them, the lyrics and Scott's singing were excellent, and they only got better. I think their unplugged was what forced a lot of people re-evaluate them.

He must've been a charismatic fucker to always have those around him look the other way....
