ONE album since 2000

Post by BernieTaupson »

You can keep one new studio album released after 2000.

Which one is it?

Damn good answer, Ralph (although I might prefer "We Sweat Blood" by a hair).

The Darkness' "Permission To Land" is a worthy candidate, but if my house was on fire and I could only snag one album on the way out the door (a silly analogy since I could always just re-buy, but ignore that for the time being), I'd probably end up grabbing something by Eclipse. Which one would depend on my mood at the time, but that's a cop-out answer, so I'll say "Armageddonize."

Todd Rundgren - Liars
Recorded on a laptop at home with vocals done in a linen closet.
Still studio quality, though.

I'm feeling torn between Snakes & Arrows, Just Push Play, and American Idiot. Think I'll go with Snakes & Arrows since I saw that album's tour on opening night, and JPP is good but weak compared to everything before it.

Even Aerosmith super fans Mojo and greatwhitesnake think that answer is ludicrous.

You don't listen to many new albums?

That's a big span to choose from, but this would probably be my choice. Not a dud in the bunch. Although I could go without hearing Last Night ever again

Maybe Collective Soul Youth or Nickelback All the Right Reasons or American Idiot

I agree that Just Push Play is a weak album, but I still enjoy some of the songs on it. I do listen to a bit of new (as in 2000-onward) albums, but not always. I'd consider Permission to Land and a few other albums from The Darkness on up there. Reckless Love's debut is great, too.

Songs for the Deaf, Death by Sexy, The Suburbs, Blak and Blu, Ceremonials, Post Pop Depression, Below the Belt, and Snakes & Arrows are good. Same with the new Stones album.

I have to go with Memory Almost Full by Paul McCartney if I have to go with just one.

Too many to pick just one, BUT… the first to come to my mind is Behemoth’s The Satanist 2014. Simply amazing.

EA was my answer as well. My first thought was The Loveless but it was from 95.

Speaking of EA - 3 new audio live shows on YouTube!

You won't regret it. New album coming soon too - Ginger, Jon Poole and two others unknown to me, but probably related to his solo projects that I'm too exhausted to follow these days.
