Was this a hit? I don’t remember it being on the radio. Of course it blew the fuck up when it was featured on The Office!
As one of their best songs, why didn’t this get a big push when it was released?

I had to check to see if it was released as a single and apparently it was. Released in 1992 and Motley wasn’t on the radio anymore at that point. My wife’s name is Angela so I always liked the song but back then I still liked everything they did.

Apparently it was only released as a single in Japan and didn't do much. No video. No push. Didn't help that the band was falling apart around this time and never did a tour (outside the festival dates) for the greatest hits album, which would've basically been an extension of the Feelgood tour.
The song always felt forced to me. Like they were trying too hard to come up with a catchy single in the vein of "Don't Go Away Mad". Band was losing inspiration at this point. All the greats have their "lightning in a bottle" era and Motley was past theirs.

I prefer Motley deep cuts for cheesy entertainment. She Goes Down, Slice of Your Pie, Rattlesnake Shake, etc.

It was a single in name only. Was only released as a CD single in Japan, and no video for MTV.
Looks like there was a radio promo disc for it in the US, but nothing actually sold in stores.

She Goes Down isn’t a deep cut. It’s ok. Their deep cuts are all meant to be deep. Very deep. 6’ deep.Rocker4Real wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 9:58 amI prefer Motley deep cuts for cheesy entertainment. She Goes Down, Slice of Your Pie, Rattlesnake Shake, etc.

Was it released as a single? Was it played live often? Was there a video? That's my criteria. It's a deep cut if those things do not apply.DemonFilth2001 wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 4:16 pmShe Goes Down isn’t a deep cut. It’s ok. Their deep cuts are all meant to be deep. I know the song. It had to have been on the radio. No other possible way for me to know it.Rocker4Real wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 5:18 pmWas it released as a single? Was it played live often? That album was a big seller and all over the place. You probably heard it in someone's tape deck when you were in college in '89.DemonFilth2001 wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 5:32 pmI know the song. There's no way in hell She Goes Down was ever played on the radio, aside from shows like Eddie Trunk or Jim Flourentine, where the DJ can play whatever the hell they want.DemonFilth2001 wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 5:32 pmI know the song.
