it dawned on me (as I was listening to them today) that I don't think this band has been mentioned

BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION

not from a Plant/Hughes perspective but the sound of the band. Especially with Bonzo Jr on the skins

Ehh... I'm a major Glenn Hughes fan but I hated it when he formed this band. It's just unexciting, boring middle-of-the-road stuff. Hughes was always best when doing melodic rock or something funky, not this bland kind of blues rock. And bland blues rock is what you get with Joe Bonamassa.
