Well I ordered it today after spending about a 1/2hr with the combo. It's pretty great sounding on it's own, and it integrates with the HD500 to make a fairly righteous rig. The new updates give it about 30 different configurations with out the HD but the 4 original sold me on the whole thing.

2- EL-84's, 1-12AX7 with a modeling section. They say 25wt with a 10wt low power mode but I would guess closer to 18wts out of a pair of 84's not that you'll hear a lot of difference between 25 & 18. Bogner worked on it with them so who knows? 2 channel without the HD on a regular single button switch.

I use a Tweaker 15 for recording and and sit-in gigs and it's a pretty cool little amp but since I already have the HD500 this seemed like a no brainer. I have a Jet City 20H that I use for rehearsal and gigs that I get mic'd up hoping the DT25 will cover all those. I want to get a nice 1x12 to go along with it at some point too.

I'm gonna have to plug into one of those. I usually shy away from modeling amps.

I'm sure they sound good. My little Vox AD30VT sounds really good for a hybrid modeling amp. Uses a 12AX7, but not as a preamp - as a miniature power circuit with a virtual transformer. Very inexpensive amp that sounds really good - the AC30 model, as you might expect, really does sound like an AC30. The Modern British (think JCM900) is a good crunch/high gain channel, and if I need more gain than that I apply my SD-1 used as a clean boost.

The later VT series are MUCH more prone to failure, but the ADVT series are relliable workhorses - fewer models, but how many of each type do you really need? 11 models are more than enough to cover the spectrum of clean, bluesy clean, classic dirt and modern high-gain. Good quality effects too.

Actually I run the line out of my AD30VT into my Jet City JCA20H head and that is probably very similar in sound to the DT25 and a lot cheaper. Fewer models, but again, I have an AC30 model, a Fender Twin model, a Plexi model, a JCM900 model and a Recto model - do I really need anything else to get the basic cool sounds? The AD30VT was $99 used and the JCA20H was $249 brand new. Like the Line6/Bogner alliance, my Vox/Soldano alliance is made in China but of decent components.

The Line6 is for sure a sexy amp, just out of my budget range at $749 at GC, so I am glad I can do something similar with what I already have!

I needed a portable amp for learning shit at other locations...ended up with a Vox Mini 3...played it all last night. Pretty sweet little amp. Super versatile, and very cute.

$99, tax included at Sam Ash.

If you need a desktop amp, I'd go so far as to suggest it.

It'll run off batteries, too.

Huh maybe that wasn't what he was playing, I think I was thinking of the Dark Terror sorry.

Picked up a Jet City 1x12 cab used for peanuts. Going to run the L6 head thru it at the house. The head just showed up, soon as it gets to room temp I'll fire it up.

Love new gear days

Went down to the local shop to check it out as I wanted something small, so I didn't have to take my Marshall with me every time, even if I didn't need all that power or hassle.... and damn I was surprised by how small it is and how really good it sounds. I also picked up a Orange PPC112 cab and for a few hundred bucks, I have a great little travel rig. Sounds good with my Tele, ML, ESP.... Dig it. Thanks for the heads up.

Having a blast with the DT25 so far, a little learning curve but got it cooking. Picked up a Warehouse Reaper 12" for the JC cab, not digging that Eminence too much.

I am working a Universe project right now. Hopefully she sounds good when I'm done or it's a waste of time. Most Ibanez guitars sound crappy, so we will see.

Built me a Wampler Plexi Drive clone from plans i found on the internet. Sounds nice and cost a lot less than what a real one costs. Next on my project list is to build a Systech Harmonic Energizer clone.

I LOVE Orange and the sound of the tiny terror and dark terror, but they're just too small. 20 watts and my drummer cant hear shit. I got the 30 Watt Orange, but 30 watts is still too little for my band. When everyone's going, you can barely hear it. I'm a bit let down by the lack of loud because I had a 30 watt Vox that sounded much louder.

The Eminence is a Jet City co-branded 70wt, supposedly real close to the Legend.

I dropped a Warehouse Reaper in and I like that a lot better so far. It is a G12H-30 clone, a little grainier version to my ears but very good.

What's the Langner mod do?
