Happy to oblige, albeit retroactively. Try this line of pedals on for size. It's certainly befitting of your skill level and craptastic guitars, though could be too pricey. Maybe if you sweep up at a second Taco Bell, you can afford one. And remember: the red light means its on.

Gibson Les Paul Trad Pro V and a MIM Fender Stratocaster. My pedalboard is small. I have a Electro-Harmonix Soul Preacher compressor, Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret overdrive pedal, MXR Univibe chorus and vibrato, and an Oceans 11 reverb. All fed into an Orange TH 30.

What brand of strings are you all using these days? I've been having issues with Ernie Ball strings and now I'm hearing around the guitarguy water cooler that Ernie's are slipping in quality like Gibson guitars. The Guitar Center here basically only has them and D'addarios. I guess I'll start using D'addarios for now but I need to try some others.

Suggestions/recommendations?

I recently went to 38-8 on a couple guitars.
I use Ernie Ball.
I’m not experiencing any issues (yet?)

I'm a basic bitch, so it's D'addario 10-46's all the way. I've tried 9's lightening up because Brian May plays super light strings, and they were too loose (like your mom) and I've tried 11's and they were too heavy (like your mom). The 10's play well in standard tuning and they don't feel too loose on my half-step down guitar.

I'll use any strings. Couldn't give a fuck. They all break or go dead after a while.

I usually go Ernie Ball because that Eagle graphic is dope. I had a guy tell me I should use D'Addarios because they last longer. They did not.

Depending on the guitar, I'll go .009's, 10s, even 11s on one of my strats. Different guages feel different on different guitars. I use hybrid guages a lot, too...my 9s and 11s are hybrid, but usually I use normal sets of 10s.

I had a pack of Ernies that were ate up with rust straight out of the pack. Not cool.

When I got work done on my newest guitar the tech used a set of strings that came with the guitar. I had told him there was a set in the case. They were some off brand set from either China or Japan. I actually wasn't sure if he had put them on the guitar and I figured if they were no good he wouldn't use them. So I had to check back with him and he says "Oh yeah those strings are crap". I'm thinking why the fuck did you put them on the guitar then? I thought the action was off or something. He took it like I specifically wanted to use those strings.

Holy shit. I tried a hybrid set 9s on the high end and 10s lower. On the tele. Hated it. Guitar didn't sound or play the way I like it till I put straight 10s on. I'm thinking I would probably break 8s if I looked at them wrong. No fucking way.

I have to do 10s or 11s.

What’s the F on the headstock for? Fake? Feigned? Faux? Fabricated? Fictitious? Those are the F words that make me think of Nikki Sixx.

I will once again caution Huey to avert thine eyes:

Ultra Strat. Best feel of any strat I've picked up and I own a mod-shop master built. (which is also perfect but this thing for me, and my hands is unreal)

I dont hate that one. It's not that awful quilted maple. If it couldnt be white, that's a good second option. I think it actually looks better than Strat's standard burst.

So there's a white (Artic Pearl) option with rosewood neck that is easily my favorite Ultra available right now. I've got the white Strat covered already or I would have definitely chosen that one. I'm a strat nerd so just about any color gives me a boner but White is my favorite.

Strats should be white or cream/antique white. That should be single-coil, Fender-branded. Fuck all other Strats except EVH's. The end.

What is meant by "Ultra" Strat?

Looks pricey. Although that's not surprising. All your guitars look pricey.

It's a 'modern' take on Strats. (yeah kinda 'pricey') Ultra have very contoured body's including a carved neck-heel. The main reason I wanted one. It's so different. Also a rounded-edge, compound radius neck. A switch to combine bridge & neck P/Us, a tone control bypass. Basically a hot-rod American Standard with some additional attention to detail.

Unfortunately they'll be gone when I replace it with a 'trucker mudflap naked girl leaning back' neck plate.
