Heads up:

Musicians friend is running a deal that ends today or tomorrow.

If you order by phone and give them the code: oct20% , you get 20% off.

I just ordered this: Image

It's price is $379, but with the deal, it came out to $303.20! No tax, free shipping.

I think I've had 30+ guitars over the years - here's the pics I have left. I only own one of the gtrs these days, the Yamaha LD10E - I use a LP Classic and 80's Japanese Strat and Telecaster in '09. I still have the Charvel Bass too. As well as a 80's Roadstar bass.

From memory, these were:
1. 60's Danelectro (with Jeff Becks autograph!)
2. 70's tobacco sunburst LP
3. 76 Firebird (with humbuckers)
4. 73 Sg (with EMG's - which I put in the Firebird!!)
5. 70's LP deluxe (with added humbucker)
6. early 80's LP Custom - all nickel parts and potted p/ups - never seen another one like it
7. 1969 Tele - green sunburst. Not nice.
8. ESP tele
9. Early Tokai Strat - stripped the finish off the fecker.
10. 80's strat.
11. 1982 San Dimas Charvel Bass - serial 2204)

Lemme know what ya think.

Besides my Tele, I also have what was formerly a Strat plus

If I knew more about it, I probably wouldn't have. But recently I found this, which I thought was interesting.

It was a good and informative read.

Fig! I have an EC-1000 vintage black on the way from esp! I love the dull looking finish. My 1 complaint about my other 6 they gave me is they are too pretty! I love the ec 1000s. Now my les paul sits at home safe and sound while I drag those around on the floor and from airport to airport, they super light and sound great.

Will you be attaching the neck yourself? If so, good luck!

I like that washburn up there

So tell me people, which one of these would you choose?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JElhF57WaBI

I had my eye on the Night train, but then the Blackstar seems cool. And I didn't think of the marshall, but then it's like the only one with reverb.

Anybody have any recommendations?

I love the "tone king"! He has every amp ever, but really can't fucking play!

That being said, I have the Egnater Rebel 20, and it's really, really good.

I am looking to unload it soon, though. I want to move up to the Rebel 30...if you have any interest, make me an offer.

How is the Egnater at a super low volume?

I play a lot, and I'm looking for something that still sounds good at a very low volume, so I can still hear the YV.

For a tube amp, it's as good as anything...you can crank it down to one watt (it has a continuosly variable power section), but you're still going to have to use the master volume to get it down to TV volumes. (As opposed to running the wattage at 1 and the master at 5 or so and getting output tube sag and compression).

It's very cool. You can open it up at pretty low volumes, but I've also used it with a full band through a 4x12.

The neck pocket going to match the Gibby heel?

Just putting the finishing touches on a custom shop Melody Maker I am re-doing before it goes for paint. Doing it up Pelham Blue and trying to figure if I want to drop a Firebird mini-hum in the bridge.

You guys need to quit letting tis thread die. I mean come on, how can all you gearwhores stop talking about guitars?

so anyways, I rarely do guitar center, but today they had a sale.

A champion600 for $99.95

Had to do it
Image

Doesn't seem to do distortion though, even with a pedal. Clean though, with my tel posted earlier in the thread, it sounds pretty fucking good though, for creedence and such.

Wasn't worth the 2-300 they originally wanted, but a hunnert was a deal.

Chinese made / pc board. They look cool but they can be pretty boring stock.
Any and all upgrades on that one will result in better sound.
I'd start by putting a better 12ax7 in it. A better speaker would help too.
Amps like that are a good base for mods if you're into such things.

Using a tele, with tele type toons, it sounded cool. But after trying different pedals, it still just could quite get it up.

But running the pod could. It make the little fucker cream for whatever weak wattage it is. I should read the manual before I toast it.

So, I want to learn to play slide and was figuring I'd get a (cheap) new guitar to keep in an open tuning.

Was thinking about maybe picking up a Danelectro of some sort. Thoughts?
