If I had a couple grand, I'd be all over the elitist Sheratons and Rivieras...and there was a John Lee Hooker Sheraton I'd love to have as well.

I can second that....I had a killer Epi Joe Pass semihollow body and it was awesome...It was the first guitar I purchased that was new...I was a proud daddy...I played it at one show...Then...I was robbed at gunpoint for it in Detriot and I'll always be bitter...That mofo probably sold it for a hundred bucks...

I'm sorry to hear that man. :( The Joe Pass is a terrific guitar - maybe someday you can come across another one.

Does anybody know anything about Brawley Guitars? I know they don't make them anymore, but that's about it.

I have a Brawley I bought back in 2003. I haven't used it much over the years, because I pretty much just stick to playing bass. I looked on Google, and this is basically what it looks like, except it has a darker finish;

Image

Should I even bother trying to sell it, or should I just dust it off and keep it?

Don't know about them specifically...Probably not worth much is my guess...Since you are a bass player by trade why don't you just take that guitar and have it properly setup and calibrated and use it for versatility if nothing else?

The guy who created Brawley guitars works for Guitar Center and is in charge of the Lagunas.

So you would probably have to look at what a similar Laguna model is worth used and shoot for that as a selling price. Probably better off keeping it if you want a decent guitar around at all, as you'd probably have to sell it pretty cheap. They are pretty nice guitars though, the Lagunas I mean. I haven't played a Brawley, just remember that they came out, he was supposed to be a good luthier, but they never caught on.

Keith Brawley worked at Fender the same time I did. He was in marketing there and was one of the guys that interviewed me for my spot. I can't remember the exact circumstances of his leaving the company, nor what he did after (I left in '97). Anyhow, around 2000 or 2001, I saw him in the stores with his own brand of guitars. He had a little capital and was having these guitars built in South Korea.

Brawley had some success in the indy music stores, but was heavily involved with Mars and it wiped him out when they went tits up. I guess he took the works to GC with him.

$199... and only worth that. Paint cracked off in a large area and needs a set up badly.

Oddball shape, but goes well for that timeframe.

Get it restrung/setup, give us an idea on how it sounds.

I ended up buying the Peavey Heritage VTX 2x12 that I was on the fence about.

Stuck in Auotmix mode(who the fuck keeps the footswitches for these things? Ebay guy wants damn near $100 for one), but not a BAD amp.

It'll get me by 'til I get another Marshall(the lead channel on the Heritage just doesn't have enough guts for me....looking at one of the 2550 Jubilee kits from these guys.

www.ceriatone.com

Anyone here had any experience with them?

Is that the KMAG you mentioned a few posts up? Hopefully an hour spent setting it up will make it play nice. Lot cheaper than a Charvel Star, anyway! Did you know about the paint damage or was it in transit?

That's the only downside to buying through ebay, the shipping apes break shit sometimes...

What's a Gibson Marauder worth? The neck says it's a "second" from 1978.

What do they want for it?

There's one on the 'bay for $575 buy it now...I think anywhere under $500 is a good deal on one...they've sold recently on there between $380 and $760.

I was watching them for a while...those are kind of the range they run in.

$895 - which I figured was too high. I did a past auction search and none of them sold near that.

I need a new/bigger pedalboard...I'm thinking of picking up an SKB PS-55 Stage Five.

It seems the best size/features for the price...plus I trust SKB.

Anybody got any better ideas/hot tips?
