There is no way in California that this could happen. Squatters are a thing, but not if you still live in the place.

At some point lawmakers passed incredibly strong tenant-protections to ‘curb homelessness’, so landlords have almost no power.
Makes me want to move somewhere I can shoot people off my own lawn.

It got to a point where I was afraid to leave the house, and at the same time dreading to see them. I even tried to hire someone just to occupy the place for me but the problem is there’s two of them...that means one can back up the other’s story anytime they decide to attack someone, which they did, several times.
