Bands/Genre with Geekiest Fanbase

Post by BDG135 »

From my experience, it's GenZ/Millenial Extreme Metal fans. They love to make up new genre names and write essays about what bands belong in the different categories. What do you think? Rush fans?
Not everybody is on MetalShit.com and Blabberface fuckin’ dot net! Who cares? There’s such a small amount of people that do that. - Blotz

Kiss will probably take top honors in all variations of unsavory fanbase competitions

Prog bands, which I guess could include Rush, seem to have the geekiest.

Dream Theater. I saw more trans women at a recent show than the old fashioned kind.

I feel like KISS fans are more so pathetic than geeky in many cases. Not sure if it's truly representative, but every time I see Cheap Trick there are a lot of old nerds there!

Ha. Yep.

There was a minute there where Guns N' Roses seemed to attract some real nerds. Pre-Chi Dem, when it was all about the PRECIOUS LEAKS.

Nowhere near Kiss though. They attract some of the most dysfunctional people on the planet.

Can confirm. I went to ARW a few years ago and hadn't seen Yes in 25 years. The crowd was very old, very serious, and all dressed in old Yes t-shirts. Never stood up once except for the encore.

Definitely K-Pop.
All over the world there's nerds learning Korean to better understand their weird genre.
