I go with Dirt if AIC counts.

Same. Nevermind, Ten, and OP's pick of Core would be a good second, third, and fourth respectively, but Dirt wins by a mile.

Green River is my favourite of the bunch. It’s the only one I still listen to regularly.

That's a tough one. If I had to pick one, it'd be Dirt.

Add a poll if ya can.

Pearl Jam is a classic rock band. Blues based progressions and guitar solos.

Alice in Chains was a Metal band. Metal riffs, progressions and solos.

Stone Temple Pilots was a glam band. Find a bigger strutting peacock than Wieland with the badassery of the DeLeos.

I know, I know they were all " grunge" but that was just marketing wasn't it...

As actual albums/cohesive collections of songs, gotta go with Superunknown or Purple.

STP got a lot of shit at the time but Core and Purple are great albums.

Tiny Music is where they lost me. Never been into that ironic rock star schtick.

I'm going to throw L7's Bricks Are Heavy into the mix here. Also, Babes in Toyland's Fontanelle. Giving the ladies their due.

This, with Ten and MTV Unplugged Live (Nirvana) also in the top three. Core is good though. Maybe even 4th.

AIC first two barely make the top 10 of grunge albums.

well, STP invited it with the Eddie faces on ‘plush,’ layne vibes on ‘sex type,’ and wearing the dresses onstage.

But I heard ‘sin’ today and that breakdown is killer.
Guitar solo was better than I remember.
They did it with ‘wicked garden,’ too.

The best grunge album is "Dropped" by Mindfunk. Nothing else comes close.

I guess everyone here is too cool to say the obvious - Nevermind by Nirvana. It's the one with the best songs and that always wins.

Those D listers Bush & Creed ruined the scene..late to the Grunge party bands!!!!!

The Slaughter and Nelson of the scene!
Some douche-bag named SeattleGrungeRawk’rr
probably moved to Seattle and wasted 25 years of his life going to all those forgotten band shows!
Imagine all scab grunge bands playing to 40 people from 1997-tonight
No family
No friends
No wife
No kids
What a dumbass
Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"
