Strange Kirk Hammett Mannerisms, What's Going On Here?

The first thing that strikes me about watching this is that he may have Parkinson's (?), or is he just fucking wasted on something? LOL

He can't seem to sit still at all.

It looks almost like he doesn't have control over his own movements and it sounds like he's slurring some of his words.

His mannerisms remind me of Michael J. Fox when the disease was just starting to affect him in a obvious way.

I can't see Hammett being a meth head but stranger things have happened I guess.

Something’s been up with Kirk since the Hardwired cycle and I hope it’s not what you’re suggesting.

He’s always been a shy/awkward interview, but this is different.

He’s also clear-eyed and in top-notch physical shape. He says he’s been sober for a few years and I tend to believe it. Maybe he still likes his weed, but you don’t get…this…from weed.

So, yeah, hope you’re not onto something here.

He only does it when he's speaking. When he's listening to a question, he's still and attentive. Parkinson's isn't selective like that.

Pulled up a few other interviews from a decade ago - loos like he always shifts around and fidgets when he’s talking.

He just also looks like shit here. Give the guy A break.
