No disrespect but the reality is this: Being banned from a message board isn't a threat. We're all people with real lives in our 40s, 50s, and 60s, and who really gives a shit about being banned from a message board? People will just re-register under new names, if they even care to do so. I understand why you're not allowed to discuss certain things but as long as you have a board, people will post dumb things and poke the bear. It will never end. That's just human nature. If you truly don't want the hassle of dealing with stupid people and having to worry about lawsuits and shit, you'd just delete the board, because YOU are the only person who faces real life consequences from what happens here. I've been around since 2008 or 12, was gone for a while, and returned with a new account. I'm not a frequent flyer here, so I still have no clue. The real reason for my comment is the fascination I have watching people who can't help but dig a deeper hole once they are called out. Not that a message board matters to most of us, but it's still a form of self-destruction. On the flip side, I know there is more sophisticated message board technology that doesn't allow specific language, words, etc., other than phpBB. I also realize that cost isn't worth the occasional dumbass for Stevie to toss $$ into.

I was a regular on another gossip messageboard circa 1998-2002 which had that after a couple of celebs sued them. Any attempted post that included the banned names would just generate a "sorry, can't do that" message. I find it difficult to believe that +20 years later it still counts as "sophisticated" rather than a standard feature.

It should be noted that some people just like pushing your buttons because it seems it's easy to do. They're trying to get under your skin. I know if I made a post about Wolfgang Van Halen and said how talented he was and that he's scrapped and clawed him way to the top and has earned it and paid his dues, your head would explode and you'd post a long rant in that thread. It's easy to upset you and plenty of people get a kick out of it. Stop reacting to it so passionately.
