Black n Blue

Miss Mystery was a good tune. Any others? They had several major label releases. Certainly they had 3-4 others.

Name them.

Debut has "Hold on to 18", "Chains Around Heaven", and "School of Hard Knocks" which are all great. Check those out next.

Those are all great! They also did a great cover of Sweet's, Action.
Chains Around Heaven is one of my favorites.

Miss Mystery and Hold On To 18 are all you need. All of the other songs sucked.

First 3 albums are all great. Start with the first one, if you don’t like that then you won’t like the rest.

GREAT Band.... was my #4 as a 18 year old... behind VH, Crue & Ratt... Black N' Blue was right there.

Only saw them for a few songs when they opened for Saxon and Yngwie in Milwaukee... likely 1986 ish...

Jaime is a good guy too... he sang back-grounds and the breakdown on our 2012 remake of "Good Guys Wear Black"

Loved them back in the day. A lot of it does not hold up.

Most of the tunes listed would be the ones to check out.
I'd add the ballad I'll Be there for you.

Fun fact. The tune Nasty Nasty was co written by Gene. He re wrote it for Revenge and turned it into Domino. The BnB version has more balls.

Those are my 2 favorites also but I wouldn't say the rest suck.

Funny, I just looked at their discography and I pretty much like the first half (or first side) of all 4 of their 80's records.

Good band but I guess they just didn't have enough star power to get them to the next level.

A "Without Love" side note in musical history (not to mention Bon Jovi had a song called Without Love on the SWW album):
Produced by Bruce Fairbain, this album has a slick production that impressed Jon Bon Jovi enough to recruit Fairbain to produce the Slippery When Wet album.

Debut is awesome. Always dug One for the Money as a 'deep cut'. Was disappointed in everything after that record, but Nasty Nasty was a step in the right direction. Freight Train Jane was a cool band post BnB and Jaime's GF at the time was ridiculously hot AF.

The weird blonde current guitarist plays in a few cover bands out here. Namely the Guns n Roses one where he's "Slash" wearing a comically bad Party City wig. Methinks Black n Blue isn't doing very well financially.

Without Love is a classic of the era. Softer than the debut. Great record top to bottom. Here are some of my BnB faves:

Show Me the Night
Action
Swing Time
Two Wrongs (Don't Make it Love)
Miss Mystery
I Want It All
Does She or Doesn't She?
It's hard for me to get used to these changing times. I can remember when the air was clean and sex was dirty.

One of my favorite bands back in the mid-80's. They never quite put it all together, but still had a bunch of good music.

Black N' Blue is one of those 1st generation hair bands (Keel, Helix, Rough Cutt, etc..) that were Mediocre on every level.......... a handful of good songs and a couple I really like ("I'll Be There For You" and "Suspicious"), but IMO a band that absolutely would not have been signed once the level of competition increased in the mid to late 80's.

4 very solid albums & one of my alltime favs
Just missed with bad timing
Tour with Kiss great, but it was Asylum & one album late for the better Animalize tour
Tour with Aerosmith, but on Mirrors & album too early for comeback
Both the first 2 albums were over 400K I was told by band members, so close to Gold but they fell short
Early 80s bands got one single/video unless they broke big, 2nd singles may have put them over
Horrible decision by Geffen to release Ill Be There For You as it was only song on the 3rd album that sounded like it didnt belong.
They were on the strip when it started (80s wise) so they'd seen it all.
Still an excellent live band
