Most of the Zep releases can be played in their entirety. Beginning to end. No need to skip many tunes.
Stones had a lot of hits. Also had a ton of skippable tracks.
Zeppelin by a mile.

I'll say Stones because I've purchased something from them and not Zep.

I've owned all the Zep studio releases in one format or another. Some on multiple.
I inherited Sticky Fingers when my father in law died this Summer. Haven't played it. Have heard all their stuff from friends. Definition of a "greatest hits band."
Zeppelin is 1000x better. Stones were all marketing and hype.

Both great, but I gotta go with Zep here.

I've never been a huge fan of either one, but I respect their influence on Rock. Maybe I've been soured from hearing Blag Dog being played to death on Rock radio. Always found that song grating and annoying.DemonFilth2001 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 6:41 pmI've owned all the Zep studio releases in one format or another. Some on multiple.

Except for Exile, the Stones output between those albums was pretty meh.Psychobolia.com wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 5:26 pm Sticky Fingers/Some Girls > IV/Physical Grafitti
Stones for the win.

Sorry about your father in law, but that sentence sounds pretty kinky.DemonFilth2001 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 6:41 pm I inherited Sticky Fingers when my father in law died this Summer.

I know it's subjective, and I like both bands, but the Stones are a band I can listen to over and over. I can't do that with Zep. They had some variation of styles, but the Stones explored MUCH more musical territory.

Zep. Stones were better in the 60’s.

Love them both and overall I like the Stones better. But the 70s belonged to Zeppelin. They are the blueprint for a reason.
