Do you sing at concerts?
I mean its as annoying as shit to be next to some asshole yelling the lyrics out of key the entire show, but at the same time, groups write songs to be anthemic so what to do.

Of course, most metal shows I’ve been too, it’s loud enough that I can’t be heard, which is good for everyone.
Some of the gigs I’ve taken Ruby too however.

I do, but I would never be loud enough to subject my awful voice to anyone near me. More of lightly mouthing the words.
I don't even have a decent tone in my speaking voice.

The audience during the Pack Up the Plantation: Live! version of Tom Petty's "Breakdown" sure did. Nearly put poor Tom out of a job.

No. I paid to see the singer of the band sing. I don't sing along while listening to a cd at home, and I see no reason why I would at a concert either. I also do not "play air guitar" or "air drum".

When told to by the frontman, if I’m in the mood.
Gotta say, crowd participation has gotten especially weak in recent years. Pantera’s headlining set that I saw last summer is the only show I can think of in a very long time where everyone around me was having a spirited yell-along fest.

If I don't like what I'm hearing, I sing a different song.
I reckon all songs are folk songs. I ain't never heard no horses singing any.

I used to know a house sound tech who would do this in the monitors when he didn't like what he was hearing from the band onstageTurner Coates wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 8:26 pm If I don't like what I'm hearing, I sing a different song.

Re: Do you sing at concerts?
I was doing sound at a festival when a percussion player (congas and timbales) decided he needed more microphones, so while they were playing, he started grabbing vocal mics and adding them to the mics that were already on his instruments.
I was doing monitors from front of house, so I added a slight delay to his playing, in the mons AND the mains. It made him to appear to be playing off beat. The other band members started mad dogging him. It was hilarious.
The lesson here is, "YOU'RE BETTER OFF SLAPPING JESUS THAN PHUCKING WITH THE SOUND PERSON."

The guy I knew was named Midnight Joe. In addion to singing different songs he would sometimes do intentionally off-key backing vocals and razz the band while they were playing. He was a trip

Sing in the shower! Sing along with the CD! Sing in the car! Sing at the show!
You might feel a little better.

There used to be a program at the New Mexico State Prison called, "Music At The Joint" (or something similar), which featured live bands.
A guy I knew was in one of the bands. After he made a wiseass remark onstage, somebody yelled, "PHUCK YOU!"
The guy's response was, "Your cell or mine?"

I wasn't aware that they way one enjoys a concert determines their happiness or unhappiness. But I suppose I appreciate your attempt to make me feel a little better.Metal Sludge wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 7:52 pmYou sound like an unhappy person.steviedoes wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 7:18 pm No. I paid to see the singer of the band sing. I'm singing, I'm dancing, I'm throwing ice at chicks sitting on their man's shoulders and blocking the view. Flash the band and get down already. I paid and took the time to be here and I'm gonna enjoy the show.

I do. But not the same song the band is playing. Some don't like it others think it's quirky and cute.
