Major music companies including Universal Music Group have been in discussions regarding a potential acquisition, we’re told, in addition to players from the world of private equity. If the combined Queen rights sell, say MBW’s sources, a price-tag in excess of USD $1 billion seems guaranteed.
Some have told us they expect the Queen catalog to sell for around USD $1.1 billion; others say the eventual figure will be even higher than that.

Queen has, by far, the most valuable catalog in rock music.

They have a lot of great melodic songs that also have interesting and useful titles for use in advertising and media, such as " We are the champions ". Freddie Mercury was one of the best songwriters of all time.Mister Freeze wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 3:34 pm Queen has, by far, the most valuable catalog in rock music.

Music is ALL about songwrting, and if you cannot write songs then your chosen noun of musician isnt very valuable. Though today because of downloading for free being so easy it is a thing of the past. All the creative people will move into another form of Art.

Well you know, a billion pounds is a LOT of money. This is huge news and it unequivocally shows the value of Queens music.

Queen divided things four ways. Each surviving member gets 25% with Freddie's estate/Mary Austin getting the other share

Did Paul ever get ownership back from Michael Jackson? I remember Michael bought the rights, right out from under Paul back in the 80’s.VinnieVincentsVag wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 10:32 amveritas wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 4:55 pmAlmost.....Mister Freeze wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 3:34 pm Queen has, by far, the most valuable catalog in rock music.
