He opened for Queensryche a few years ago, and he was great live. On a side note, a young (15-16ish) goth girl was at the show and was…….reallly…..into him. It was almost uncomfortable to watch. Pretty sure that girl’s hormones went where no man had gone before that night. I think she had a moment, right there standing next to her mom.

It's the same thing as going to see Bumblefoot or whatever - a guy playing guitar exercises disguised as songs.

You like the idea of that or you don't. I'd rather be shot.

I like guitar hero type stuff generally, but I can't get into the 5, it just doesn't hit me. He seems goofy AF to me.

You should try to see his ex-wife instead. Didn't you used to have a huge crush on Aria Giovanni?

I would recommend going. I saw him a couple of weeks ago. Didn’t know what to expect and I usually don’t like instrumental shows. Eric Johnson was another show I enjoyed.

He plays a lot of different guitars, banjos, ukuleles, bass and more. Lots of different styles. He doesn’t just shred the entire time

Plus, he is a good entertainer. Moves around, has video, etc. it’s just him and a drummer onstage.

We had a chance to meet him after, nicest guy you can imagine. Go if you can.

Actually just got home from the Rochester NY show. Sold out-400 cap room. 80 mins.
No bass player, Drummer triggerd bass tracks when needed. Did a QUEEN cover- UnderPressure and VH You really got me ( Crowd Sang). Did A sorta cool Crue Medley .. WAsnt a abad Gig, But wouldnt go again and honestly no biggie if you miss it. Best Part was Picking up a old buddy and catching up in person for a change.

Good for you. Seriously. The Internet and cell phones are great for what they are but seeing your people in person is the best.

Kinda want to see John 5 if he comes nearby and yadda yadda yadda. Not a great show? I love his solo shit.

I’m sure 4 of “300” bought the “cool John 5 shirt
Be easy to point out the dorks in Rochester now
None of those four drive Mazda
They probably walk in the snow ⛄️

I used to think that about too and I thought he was just an average kind of shredder but man was I wrong when I saw some interview videos of him. The guy is crazy talented and diverse. If I get a chance to see him I’m definitely going to check it out. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AgTB2jOiy44

Puts on a good show and is obviously a really talented guitar player if that's what you want to see. Really nice guy too. Signed my DLR Band CD.
