I still call it power age. "Poweredge" sounds goofy. I always saw it as a double-meaning thing anyway.

They should've named it after that shit from the three bears. Dress Angus up like Goldilocks.

Re: Hands up, who called it "Power Age"
Maybe it's a Canadian thing or something, but I never heard anyone call it Power Age once in my life until reading on here. It's been powerage from day one for us. If they wanted it to be pronounced power age, why didn't they spell it that way, especially after they already had High Voltage?

Although their way of talking sounds like Power Rage but that’s just accent
Nobody calls it poweredge

Not only that, but they even say "First you got the Stone Age, then you got the Iron Age, now this is the Power Age..."alexleehooker wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 9:56 pmYep loud and clear “the Power Age”JamesHetfieldsAcneScars wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 8:45 pm Here's Angus and Malcolm talking about it and they say the name of it a few tmes so y'all be the judge. So not only is it pronounced Power Age, that is actually what they mean in the title.

Re: Hands up, who called it "Power Age"
It never dawned on me to pronounce it as one word.
Well, that is one stupid album title, then.

Re: Hands up, who called it "Power Age"
Pretty sure most of the letters are silent and it's just: "Page".
Re: Hands up, who called it "Power Age"
Well, shit. Like was said it kind of sounds like "power-edge" because of their accents but he literally describes it as an "era" like the "stone age" etc.JamesHetfieldsAcneScars wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 8:45 pm Here's Angus and Malcolm talking about it and they say the name of it a few tmes so y'all be the judge. Leave it to Chip to come up with something you have to think twice about, hard.
PORRIDGE - what the f*ck??
I can't remember anybody ever saying that, ever, but look at the cover, and there it is!
This is something that would get you outed at a hesher convention instantly!!
"hey man, I love PORRIDGE!"

It's good to be bad
It's the best time you'll ever have
What the hell is this ultra sad
Pray for your cool and work on that ass!

Re: Hands up, who called it "Power Age"
If you name your record Power Age but then spell it Powerage, that's sorta silly. And if you see a record titled Powerage, then pronounce it Power Age, also sorta silly. It's Powerage...

Re: Hands up, who called it "Power Age"
Eddie Van Halen pronounced it "poweridge" and he took cancer apart to see how it ticks, so...:

I'm 90% sure I've heard Angus pronounce it "poweridge" too so that clip Hetfield's Acne posted threw me for a loop.

Not me... I only started buying those early AC/DC albums about a dozen or so years ago, so I was old enuff to know better.
