Slash has announced a new blues album, Orgy of the Damned, arriving May 17th via Gibson Records.
Like he has on previous solo albums, the Guns N’ Roses guitar legend surrounded himself with a host of fellow musical icons and guest vocalists. For example, the lead single, “Killing Floor” — streaming below — features the talents of AC/DC’s Brian Johnson on lead vocals and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler on harmonica.
The rest of the tracklist features similar star-studded collabs, with Slash and company tackling blues standards from across all eras such as Robert Johnson’s “Crossroad Blues,” Albert King’s “Born Under a Bad Sign,” Willie Dixon’s “Hoochie Coochie Man,” and more.
The list of notable singers includes Gary Clark Jr., Billy Gibbons, Chris Stapleton, Dorothy, Iggy Pop, Paul Rodgers, Demi Lovato, Chris Robinson, Tash Neal, and Beth Hart.
As for the core band’s lineup, Slash reunited with two of his former Blues Ball bandmates, bassist Johnny Griparic and keyboardist Teddy Andreadis, and tapped drummer Michael Jerome and aforementioned singer-guitarist Tash Neal. After a few weeks of jamming, the group cut the instrumental tracks with producer Mike Clink in the spring of 2023 at East West Studios and Snakepit Studio in Los Angeles.
Slash also announced plans for a blues-centric tour that will kick off in July and see the guitar hero performing alongside Keb Mo, Beth Hart, Kingfish, Robert Randolph, ZZ Ward, Samantha Fish, and Warren Haynes. A portion of the proceeds from the trek will benefit multiple charities important to Slash and the above artists. Stay tuned to Heavy Consequence for more information and a tour-date announcement.

I’m going to check out the Chris Robinson track for sure. That said don’t get why this guy doesn’t focus his energy writing for GNR, it’s not like he didn't wait decades to get back in the band.

Presumably because Axl is sitting on a bunch of ChiDem leftovers and isn't interested in new material.Ziggy Sawdust wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 1:32 am That said don’t get why this guy doesn’t focus his energy writing for GNR, it’s not like he didn't wait decades to get back in the band.
