That's a modern country song staple. Listen to The Highway for an hour and half the songs are like that.

He knows he's close to the end of his career and he wants to form a solid bookend for his legacy, instead of fading away.
I reckon all songs are folk songs. I ain't never heard no horses singing any.

He did say the documentary is called “Thank You, Goodnight” for a reason.

Re: Bon Jovi - Legendary
For an aging artist, an album titled “Legendary” off an album title “Forever” is lazy and cliched as hell. Clearly, Jon does not care and is guaranteed a huge lump sum to have a “Bon Jovi” album released, knowing the die hard dipshits will consume everything and think it rocks. It’s all about advance and streaming money.

It's better than, "By the end he sounded terrible, and the last time people heard him sing, he was pathetically out of tune."War_in_D wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 2:35 pmThis ain't gonna do it...Turner Coates wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 2:05 pm He knows he's close to the end of his career and he wants to form a solid bookend for his legacy, instead of fading away.
He'll be announcing his retirement soon. For everyone's (including his own) sake, I hope the retirement is for real.

I blame Someday I'll Be Saturday Night followed by the crossover success of You Can't Go Home. That was the beginning of Vag Jovi.

Phil X has always been this crazy high energy EVH kinda player...he must be bored as hell playing this stuff!
Re: Bon Jovi - Legendary
He probably makes more on his Bon Jovi retainer than he does for an entire tour with his own band.

Re: Bon Jovi - Legendary
Phil is one talented and friendly guy. He might be bored compared to what he is capable of, but I'm sure he's earning fat stacks for the gig. I saw part of a red-carpet interview with him at the Bon Jovi documentary premiere, and he came across as someone who loves this band and this gig. I'd expect nothing but that, but he seems like a super-positive dude, no matter what.
