Foo Fighters, 1997, Colour and the Shape.
3rd single was My Hero, probaly came out in 1998. Was a way-boring and weak song at the time compared to the first 2 singles. Figured it wouldn't last long. A dude sounding like a little kid fawning over his hero? WTF?
Somehow this thing still gets played on radio way more than Monkeywrench and Everlong and seems like it's way more popular now. You also got name bands that cover the fuckin thing live.
How the hell did that happen?
Why is this song so popular and lasted so long on the airwaves? Is it the lyrics? the music? Is it more appealing to the new generation/millenials/Gen Z??
What is the big deal about My Hero??

I always thought Everlong was THE song of that album and the band’s “signature song.” I think My Hero was alright as 3rd singles go, no clue why it would have more replay than the others.
