The prices I'm seeing here are EXTREMELY low! I don't think I've ever paid under $100 for a stadium or arena ticket.

I'm game:

A band's new CD = $20

Catalog releases on CD =$20

A band's Vinyl LP =$20

A Vinyl, with Color options and/or Gatefold =$20

A band's standard 2 color print T-shirt (ex: Red & White on Black) =$25

A band's 3-4 or 5 color, two-sided printed T-shirt =$30

A concert ticket (at a club) =$35

A concert ticket (at a Theater) =$70

A ticket for an Arena or Stadium show =$100

Meet & Great for an Artist who sold 2-5M over their career =$50

Meet & Great for an Artist who sold 6-10M over their career =$75

Meet & Greet for an Artist who sold in excess of 10M over their career $100

A band's new CD = $10 unless it’s a super deluxe package

Catalog releases on CD = $10

A band's Vinyl LP = $25

A Vinyl, with Color options and/or Gatefold = $35-$40

A band's standard 2 color print T-shirt (ex: Red & White on Black) = $30-$35

A band's 3-4 or 5 color, two-sided printed T-shirt = $30-$35

A concert ticket (at a club) = $50

A concert ticket (at a Theater) = $75

A ticket for an Arena or Stadium show = Depends, I’ll pay more for a pit ticket if I need to. Over $150-$175 and it better be a good seat

Meet & Great for an Artist who sold 2-5M over their career = $175, no brainer if a shirt and ticket is included

Meet & Great for an Artist who sold 6-10M over their career = $175

Meet & Greet for an Artist who sold in excess of 10M over their career = $175

Exactly. Barely even in the nosebleeds for a mid-level band anymore.

You price it up until people stop buying and then lower it until they do
That. More power to them. Earn it while you can, no matter who you are.

MattleyCrue wrote: Wed Apr 03, 2024 6:39 am If it’s a good band that I want to see I will pay any amount really.

As far as new merch goes not really interested as I collect vintage shirts which I will spend hundreds on. I just scored a 1989 Danger Danger tee for $105
Same. Not going to say how much I've spent on tickets for certain concerts (floor seats or GA/pit). If it's a band I like, I'm buying no matter what. (It's my LAglamrocker "Not Having Kids" fund.)

I don't buy anything else -- CDs (nowhere to play them anymore), vinyl (same), t-shirts, meet and greets (   ), and on and on and on.

I like when bands have their Venmo, PayPal, whatever links posted. I'll gladly tip for an awesome concert instead of buying a shitty shirt I'm never going to wear. Plus, I know that goes directly to them instead of the venue getting their cut of the concert ticket prices.

Back in my day (late 80's early 90's) it seemed like every big show (KISS, Crue, Guns n' Roses, AC/DC, Aerosmith, etc, etc.) the tickets (good seats, bad seats) were $20+/-..........so with 25 years of inflation a ticket should be $50.

So I assume it's Ticketmaster/Live Nation who's taking the "lions share" of today's ridiculous ticket prices?

I always like to compare ticket prices to comparable amounts of goods. Liiiike, when I started going to shows, a ticket and a pizza cost about the same.

Now?

The topic is what we think are 'fair and reasonable' not what the current market value is.

Just passed on seeing Steve Hackett “Foxtrot at Fifty” tour because tickets were $130 each.
