"Mayor of Simpleton", "Making Plans For Nigel", and "King For a Day" are all great songs, that's for sure.

XTC fucking ruled.

I swear XTC was one of those rare bands that just got better with age. Apple Venus and Wasp Star are about as good as any band has gone out ever.

Skylarking, probably.

Apple Venus is a good entry point too.

I'm with ElectrickMagick, they really did get better with age.

If you like "Dear God", listen to Skylarking from beginning to end. Just a beautifully produced album with all kinds of pop hooks.

From there, go with Oranges & Lemons and Waxworks (a compilation of catchy three-minute singles from the sloppier Nu Wave era).

I just saw EXTC live, so great. It's original drummer Terry Chambers, along with 2 scabs, doing XTC songs. Obviously I'd rather see the originals, but said band does have Andy Partridge's blessing.
