I was expecting a money grabbing trainwreck but Gene both sounded great and looked cool onstage in São Paulo this weekend!

He looks less ridiculous than as the 70-something demon. He should sport the Revenge look with the hair and goatee.

How big is that club...they even made him get a wristband,,,
But that's cool as shit to see someone that's rich as fuck that just really enjoys playing to people even if it's a smaller venue...
He looks and sounds great...getting away from Paul reinvigorated him...

Should've never gotten that facelift.

Cutting out the dead weight (everything about Thanley, backing tracks, click tracks, etc) and getting more fiery players has never been more easily apparent on improvement.

I thought he was sluggish because of the costume, but those things really arent that heavy, I think he just was totally sick of the current production.

Obvious how bad Paul sucked. Even those makeup-less “fun” Kiss shows were terrible.

Gene Simmons Band is playing a same festival here as The Prodigy.

Will The Prodigy do a live version of Firestarter with Gene on bass?

Just because Gene says it is a 30 pound costume doesn't make it so.

in addition to Simmons, the GENE SIMMONS BAND members include guitarists Brent Woods (WILDSIDE, SEBASTIAN BACH, VINCE NEIL) and Zach Throne (COREY TAYLOR) alongside drummer Brian Tichy (LYNCH MOB, THE DEAD DAISIES, WHITESNAKE, BILLY IDOL, FOREIGNER, PRIDE & GLORY, SLASH'S SNAKEPIT).

When Kiss played here ten years ago I got comped free tickets and never bothered to go, but I'd 100% go see a Gene theater/club show if the setlust was loaded with the '70s classics

I tuned out Kiss 15 years ago (a few years too late). I've seen Gene solo before, but I'd definitely go see this.

I do wonder why a guy that's going to be 75 in a few months is doing shows like these? Must need the adulation.

I greatly prefer the old band and deep setlists, but I’d still rather see this than tired lip sync shows.

I'm so used to shitting on KISS that I'm puzzled that I really enjoyed that. Great energy with the band and Gene doesn't seem to bored out of his mind.

Playing 5 Paul songs is a bit confounding. Ace has to do it, because he didnt have enough well known songs, and isnt a great singer.

Gene deciding to do 100,000 years is weird. It's a pretty deep cut, and he could easily do one of his own instead. Maybe he doesnt like to sing that many songs in a set?

Just looked up and the Drummer sings Ace of Spades. So that must be it, Gene must want to sing less than the full set.

Saw him last Tuesday @ the Opening of his new restaurant Rock N Brews @ the Ilani Casino in La Center (10 minutes from where I live).

Gene put out a FREE show for almost two hours, everyone had a great time with a cool set list and a few twists from the 'usual' thing since he was free to do what he wanted. First show post makeup part deux? I was there bitch...

At a KISS show, the production was the show. Gene, the band, and the songs are the show here. Good to see him take it back to the music.

100% agree and he certainly didn’t need it when he got it. Proof that all the money on the world can’t necessarily buy you good plastic surgery.

I’d love to see him bust out the Revenge era wig (maybe modified to some degree) the goatee and leathers. That was his best look.
