Yeah, they intentionally walked Sandoval to get to him and he made 'em pay.

Should've been out #3. Not that it mattered, the way Lincecum was pitching. :|

Lincecum was downright filthy last night. Almost unhittable. Without a doubt his best start of the year in the biggest game.

I'm nervous about the Philly series! I think Philly is a notch above SF but maybe if SF can get the umps on the payroll like they seemed to in this series they can get lucky! lol

Should be a good series, SF has a chance if the phils bats don't wake up, they beat the reds with little offensive help and the reds lineup is way more potent than SF's, not to mention blackbeards 18.00 era against the phils. Sanchez has the phillies number though, still I'd have to say phils take it in 5, too much offense, better pitching and playoff experience, SF will def b a more competative series for them than the braves though

giants can with the series vs the phils. no doubt about it.
the giants pitching staff can neutralize the phils offense.
if the giants can somehow score 5 runs or more a couple times, they might end up winning 4 games in the series.
the phils offense is miles ahead of the giants.
the giants pitching is probably better than the phils.
despite the sweep over the reds, the phils might as well have not played real baseball. the reds layed down and took it up the ass for 3 games. they were zero competition.
should be a very good series, unless the giants forget how to pitch.

I think it's all dependent on Sanchez like dtmfs wrote. I think Philly is a more complete team, but with a guy like Lincecum in the rotation followed by Sanchez ( as a #3? ). SF has a chance.

I'm guessing the matchups will be:

Lincecum vs Halladay
Cain vs Oswalt
Sanchez vs Hamels
Bumgarner vs Blanton

Those are some pretty good matchups! As much as I want the Giants to win, I don't think they have the horses to put up enough runs against the Phils. Pitching is close; hitting is a mismatch. Also, the Giants usually stellar bullpen looked human vs the Braves.

The Lincecum/Halladay matchup could be fucking epic. I like pitching duels, especially in the post-season.

Phillies fan, but wanted SF to win due to hatred of Atlanta. How fitting that Bobby Cox doesnt get his fairy tale ending, and their stupid fans can stick their tomahawk chop and that fucking chant they do up their collective asses. Pat Burrel has one of the sweetest swings in baseball, glad to see he found new life in his game in SF.

Main concern - I hope the Yankees dont even get in. Years ago I liked the Yankees-then I started working with New York scum.

not too long ago Yeah there were alot of shit talking braves fans saying how great it was that they would probably be in the WS in Cox last year, then as son as it became inevitable that philly was going to blow by them they changed their tune. Their fanbase is annoying as hell and have been since they got good back in the 90's. I still can't wait to see them suffer even more once posey wins ROY.

Eh. The Braves' fanbase is pretty jaded. Most of them can't be bothered to go to playoff games, let alone worry about who wins ROY.

He was tearing up a bit after the game. Almost made me cry. I respect Bobby Cox and it'll be weird to watch the Braves play without him in the dugout.

I'm talking more about the tons of idiots I've ran across on the ESPN boards, Posey vs Heyward has been discussed non stop since posey came up and started tearing it up, did you here the giants fans chanting when heyward came up? theres pretty bad blood between those fanbases on that subject, not all of course but quite a few...theres some funny videos on youtube about it to. Setting aside my pure hatred for the braves and I still think Posey is the clear winner, He;ll be great, Heyward will be.. good, that kid was way overhyped after that first at bat HR.
