De Gea still looks shaky as shit, it should have been 8-1 , that shot through the legs wasn;t good.
Mind you penalty save was and both Manchester's and Chelsea will fight it out this year
went to villa v wolves , shite match , ended nil nil ...fuck all happened - thats my review anyway

I managed to see United/Arsenal before Fox Soccer Channel and my internet went out thanks to that fuckin' storm. Good goals from Young, but the keeper is still dodgy. I really like the industry of Anderson and Cleverly in midfield. Carrick should never play again unless it's in a midfield 3. Rooney has started like a house on fire, big difference from last year. Pity Welbeck got injured.

Pretty decent signings by Arsenal. Both have experience in the premier league and both are solid players. Still I would take the combo of Nasri and Fabragaes over them.
Meireies to Chelsea was a weird one. He was doing really well at Liverpool when Kenny took over. Anyone know more details about this? Maybe he didn't fit in Dalglish's master plan. Just read Merelles handed a transfer request in - explains it I guess.

Arteta to Arse was a small surprise, if they don't shape up, they'll be battling at midtable with Everton. I'm more impressed they got Mertesacker.
I'm surprised that Liverpool dumped Meireles for all the new midfielders so soon. Bellamy is back at Liverpool, maybe for a game of golf.

Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2011/2012 Season thread*
Meireles was on low wages at Liverpool, the previous management had said they would review that at the end of the season. Then the new regime came in and they wouldn't honour the agreement he had, so he wanted out. I don't think Kenny was bothered as he's not a Dalgleish type of player. I don't think Aqualani is either, hence he's on loan at Milan now.

Yeah they needed a defender. Should be a good signing.Hellsinkey wrote:Arteta to Arse was a small surprise, if they don't shape up, they'll be battling at midtable with Everton. I'm more impressed they got Mertesacker.

I'm confident with our squad for the premier league, but the champions league will be a step too far.Hellsinkey wrote:Now Sneijder says that the deal was close.

Fuck, United have been unstoppable again today. Shame Cleverly had to go off thanks to that dirty cunt Davies. Rooney's on fire. Another hat trick. Chicarito fitting in nicely. I hope injuries don't fuck United up. Jones has played well today too.

Rooney and Chicarito trash Bolton. It looks a bit thin at central midfield now.

A friend posted a stat today:
There have been 91 goals scored in the Premier League season - 33 of those have been scored by Manchester United and Manchester City combined (36%).
Incredible.

Phil Jones looked great today , had a great game !
We sneaked a draw against Everton away , which I would have settled for at the start of the game to be honest!
8th at the minute - much better start than I anticipated!

Thoughts on Alex Mcleish? A pretty solid start and some good buys in the transfer window thus far. Made even more impressive considering Villa are looking to cut their wage bill.Sleazyjack wrote:Phil Jones looked great today , had a great game !

I hate him , no way should an ex Blues manager have anything to do with Villa, 90% of the fans don;t want him!
having said that , he has tightened up the defence and Richard Dunne is having a fantastic start to the season after his poor year. Shay Given is the best keeper in the league , an awesome signing , already saved us from losing 3 games - so that was agreat bit of business.
Disappointed with N'Zogbia - not done a lot yet - not really the same standard as Young and Downing
We need to consolidate this season and have a good run in one or both of the cups
Newcastle next , they are currently 6th somehow!!! hope we can get 3 points from that one

Half time with Benfica. Nice goal by Giggs. Fletcher and Carrick get nothing done, Rooney has to drop down too low for a lone striker.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2011/2012 Season thread*
Poor midfield. Which has allowed Benfica to trouble the defence.

Good game. Couple of great saves from De Gea and a great miss by Torres.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2011/2012 Season thread*
I know United could have had 6 goals today, but I actually thought they were a bit poor. Chelsea had a good bit of possession, and had a few decent chances themselves. I thought United's center of midfield was sloppy, and Hernandez did little but the rest were decent. Torres' miss was shocking. Still, a wins a win, and beating Chelsea 3-1 is a great result, especially with City drawing, Arsenal owning themselves and Liverpool being terrible.

Ashley Young is going to be the buy of the season if he keeps putting quality balls in the box like that all season!
We had a mediocre draw with Newcastle, would have lost of we didn;t have the best keeper in the premiership, can;t believe none of the top sides took a chance on Shay Given , he has been awesome so far

He has really stepped up. I didn't expect much from him, but he's been great. Ferguson has a great eye for talent. Situation with wingers is good, but not the centre midfield. Anderson almost gifted one yesterday.Sleazyjack wrote:Ashley Young is going to be the buy of the season if he keeps putting quality balls in the box like that all season!

Well there's one top side (4th at the moment) who would've loved to get Given back but me thinks he didn't wanna go back to NUFC.Sleazyjack wrote:We had a mediocre draw with Newcastle, would have lost of we didn;t have the best keeper in the premiership, can;t believe none of the top sides took a chance on Shay Given , he has been awesome so far

What a strange line up at Leeds game, four strikers, two defenders.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2011/2012 Season thread*
Carrick, Berbatov and Valencia in defence at the end. Taking the piss out of Leeds.

Looks like there are problems at Man City!
Tevez looking like he's never going to play for the club again.
