Re: NFL 2012 Thread
As awesome as fucking with the college football thread is, I thought I'd throw this one in here:
Who do you like in tonight's game?
I'm going with the Cowboys. The Giants are always slow out of the gate and this game has New York Post declaring "Panic in the Meadowlands!" tomorrow morning written all over it. Eli will throw a couple INTs and everybody will be freaking out. Just a hunch. This will of course all be forgotten when the Giants are 5-2.
And the panic ain't at the Meadowlands, regardless of tonight. It's in the Bronx where the Yanks are busy helping turn the Orioles into the baseball story of the year.

Giants cover the 3 and the hook easily. I think Eli will be a serious MVP candidate. And their defensive line scares the bejeesus out of me.Crazy Levi wrote:As awesome as fucking with the college football thread is, I thought I'd throw this one in here:

Interesting take John. I'll be sure and bring it up tomorrow morning, aided by a jpeg of the New York Post headline of "MVPunk" or something similarly clever.
I'm also going to pick the Redskins over the Saints. Again, the result will be forgotten when the Saints are deep in the playoffs and the Shanahan job watch is in full swing, but it will make for a fun weekend for me in New Orleans.

Dallas is pretty banged up. I don't have a real good feel for it, but I think the Giants probably take care of business. I'm interested to see how that revamped secondary in Dallas does against Eli and co.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
All the season preview journalism I've read has been predicting an awful to average season for the Saints. Then in the same fucking paragraph they say it's going to be Philly's year to shine. Ugh.
I'm just waiting til Sunday. All the conjecture just bugs the shit out of me. Like Brian Billick having power rankings before the first game based on nothing more than his opinion...which has somehow been codified into gospel by Fox Sports.

I just can't stand to hear all the talk, discussion and analysis about the upcoming game(s).
Like it really matters what these experts say 6 days before a game, 5 days and then the day of the game.
Maybe I don't care to hear the news so much because I don't participate
in Fantasy Football???

Sounds like a lot of Cowboys fans at Giants Stadium tonight.
Only got in bout 30 minutes ago. Good game from what I've seen so far.

Romo is a very good QB. I don't think licking his balls is out of order.
Romo just won the game for the Cowboys.

By the way - I'm not a gambler. What is "the hook?"
Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Romo outshined Eli Manning and the Giants last night.
Once again Romo played very well against the Giants, but this time Romo
gets the victory.
Dallas D looked very good. The upgrades on the secondary should pay off very well and having B. Carter at inside linebacker instead of Brooking and Bradie James is another upgrade.
Didn't appear that missing Ratliff on the D-line last night was a factor.
How many balls did the Giants receivers drop? I counted at least 3 for Cruz alone.
Murray ran like a monster last night. I like the way he punishes the defender when being tackled.
Miles Austin, Dez and Ogletree formed quite a trio last night.
Terrific Win!
Great start to the new season.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
I cheered for the Cowboys so I'm happy. The Giants winning last year was fucking awful and I'm glad we are starting over with a clean slate. I still don't like Dallas and they will self destruct as usual the minute they fall behind later in the season.

I got a bad feeling that this might be the Cowboys' year. Romo is entering his best 2 or 3 seasons as an NFL player.HMJ wrote:I cheered for the Cowboys so I'm happy. anybody that knows the game can see the Dallas team last night
is much improved on the defensive side of the ball.
if this were the same old team, Dallas would have lost the game by 1.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Romo was 6-6, 107-yrds & 1 TD in the 4th quarter.
Not bad for a guy who has a rep for losing the game when it counts.
22-of-29 for 307 yards and 3 TD's.
