World Series Ratings: Game 1 Strikes Out With New Low.

Not sure how game two fared but I read somewhere that since the Strike Year baseball has been racking up a bunch of all time WS rating low's.

I didn't get to watch either unfortunately.

On another note, personally, I really hate the replay addition.

I've heard and I don't know how accurate it is, that a lot of people hate Joe Buck so much they won't watch it. Listening to he and Harold Reynolds is painful.

Joe Maddon opts out of contract with Tampa Bay. Now that the West Coast Yankees have Friedman, it stands to reason they'll bring in Maddon too. That team with a good manager + FO is scary. Mattingly has no business in the Playoffs, but I'm sure he enjoys watching it on tv.

*edit

According to NY Yankees fluffer Ken Rosenthal the Cubs are the leading canidate to land Maddon. Apparently Maddon to LAD is not going to happen.

I can confirm this. I hate Joe Buck. I like Reynolds but the two of them together don't mesh. Reynolds needs to be in a studio.

Hmmmm. We might be on to something here. When you don't want something to suck, take out the suck.

Miguel Cabrera having right foot surgery.

Adam Wainwright having bone spurs removed from elbow.

Joe Maddon seeking 5/25 contract.

Paul Konerko and Jimmy Rollins co-winners of Roberto Clemente award.

I'm curious what success this will have. I've been turned down twice saying the chance of success is so slim it's not worth the procedure.

What makes Wainwright better then me other then being worth a kaibillion dollars and he can stand up in from of millions, throw a wicked curvball and strike out anyone with a number of pitches?

Being a potential Cy Young winner has a lot more pull than you would think.

I was a pretty good T-ball hitter.

Great game, the Royals just might pull this off. Inside I wanted to see Hudson be the hero and dominate tonight but I can't help but root for KC.

I think everyone wanted Hudson to dominate last night and technically he didn't pitch bad. There was no excuse to lose to Jeremy Guthrie like that either.

KC's a good team and their bullpen is spectacular, but they shouldn't be getting beaten by their starting pitching. I still have SF winning, but fuck this series is better than I hoped.

Is it me or does all the pressure seem to be on SF. I picture it being a factor. With this Royals, they have this relaxed confidence about them.
It's a good series, hope I can watch the rest.

It's not just you. Both of the rallies in game 2 and tonight were brought on by poor play in the field, specifically BRANDON CRAWFORD. After he didn't get to another line drive ( like he didn't in game 2 ), the Royals scored after. After the Royals tied it you could see Bochy throwing down his hat in disgust.

Players were out of position ( Belt, Panik, Vogelsong ) and more runs scored. I still think SF takes it, especially after 10 scoring unanswered runs. The bats being that cold against not only Jeremy Guthrie but Jason Vargas too. I think it could be the "awaken a sleeping giant" moment, so to speak.

Tomorrow is James "I haven't had a big game since 2008" Shields vs. MadBum. Game 6 is Jake Peavy and 7 would be Tim Hudson. If the offense put up the numbers they're supposed to I think the pitching edge slightly goes to SF.

I saw this confirmed on Sportscenter. Sad to hear.

On a side note, is it me or do the announcers (Joe "I am a fucktard" Buck) seem to be pulling for the Giants?

The Giants are winning, so yes. In games 2 and 3 they were tongue washing KC's nuts. "America's Team" and all that hogwash ( heh, hogwash ).

SF has one of the best announcing crew in baseball, but Fox makes us listen to Buck's freakishly giant foreheaded ass. If the Dodgers were in the WS with the greatest to ever announce at their helm, Vin Scully. We had have to listen to Buck.

I don't think Joe Buck is so bad. He clearly doesn't give a fuck what Reynolds and Verducci have to say, though (I agree with him).

Sucks about Taveras. What a shame.

First post in six years :D You are right about Joe Buck, it's amazing he can still call a game with his lips attached to Madison Bumgarner's ass. He's terrible. They should pick at least one announcer from each team to call the games, somebody who's actually seen the team play this year. No way Joe Buck ever watched the Royals play in the regular season?

SF - 0
KC - 10

game 7! Jeremy Guthrie vs Tim Hudson ?

What a bummer too because I hate the Mormons as a whole.
Guthrie basically quit baseball after his freshman year at Brigham Young University to serve a two-year mission in Spain for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
God vs Hudson

I want the Royals to win, I want Hudson to win....I absolutely don't want Guthrie to win, in fact if he gets shelled I'll be happy.
So I'll take a Hudson win or a Royal win with Hudson getting pulled in the first inning.

SF 7 - KC 2

Nah, everyone expected this with Peavy. Tonight's game should be awesome.

Cubs hire Joe Maddon in same role. That guy at the helm with the prospects Theo and Hoyer drafted is going to be scary good.

Bumgarner has successfully removed any and all sissy stigma from a boy named "Madison". That was epic.

Instant classic. What a game. It will be remembered for Bumgarner, and rightfully so, but it was Affeldt in relief early and the DP by Panik that changed the game. Congrats Giants fans.

The Mormons are to blame for a lot of things. I was hoping to still be in SF when they won, now I'm glad I wasn't. Even if all they really did was set a couch on fire. Embarrassing.

Boston extends closer Koji Uehara 2 years.

St. Louis exercises option to bring back Lackey.

Haren uses option to return to LAD.
