Last years playoffs seemed like the Bruins were built to beat everyone but the C's and the C's were built to beat the B's and not much else.
This year the C's got better and the B's stayed stagnant or declined.
A playoff meeting doesn't look like much competition at this point.
I agree with you. People here are plenty excited, and it's nice to beat Boston, but if the Habs play Detroit or Tampa in round 1, there are no guarantees. B's can't compete with the Habs speed anymore (Chara is DONE IMO), but many teams can.

Playoffs will be interesting. No bad teams. Can't wait.

Men against boys. I still like the B's chances against the top of the Metropolitan and hope someone bumps the Habs. Montreal's drafting has been far superior.

The Buffalo Sabres have agreed to a trade that will bring forward Evander Kane to Buffalo. In addition to Kane, the Sabres acquire defenseman Zach Bogosian and goaltender Jason Kasdorf. Buffalo sends defenseman Tyler Myers, forwards Drew Stafford, Joel Armia and Brendan Lemieux, and a first round pick to Winnipeg. Dreger reports the first round pick the Sabres give up will be the latest of the three they currently own.

TSN's Bob McKenzie reports the Sabres have traded goaltender Jhonas Enroth to the Dallas Stars. Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports the return on the deal includes G Anders Lindback and a conditional third round pick.

McKenzie reports if Enroth wins at least four playoff games for Dallas this year, the conditional pick a second round pick.

Tank went up another level for Buffalo.

Think it is a decent trade between them and Winnipeg though. If Kane gets his act together.

Winnik should be next, followed by Phaneuf and Kessel - maybe Bozak too.

Soembody should have told them the time to do this was LAST TRADE DEADLINE, that way they could have finished last and likely drafted McDavid.

Although, somehow, I have a feeling the Leafs will win the draft lottery, despite not having the best odds.

I can totally see the Leafs winning this lottery, a few weeks ago I had said Carolina or Arizona but with the Leafs falling fast, it's easily attainable.

I'm a true believer in the fact that McDavid is going to a team who needs fans in their seats which is why I think he lands in Carolina or Arizona BUT with the recent events surrounding the Leafs it wouldn't surprise me he somehow lands in their hands.. I know, I'm skeptical as fuck.. I'm also an Oilers fan ... So.... 8)

Hey if the Panthers don't make the playoffs we will take him. Sure we've got Ekblad, Barkov, Bjugstad and Huberdeau, but I'm greedy!

We might even get Kessel!

Doubt Tallon pulls the trigger though. Leafs will be asking for too much.

And yeah Lou has been great.

Why the hell are the B's carrying three goalies? Neely needs to step in and make a move. This season is the comedy event of the year. Get Paille and Campbell off the ice for Koko and Spooner/Griffith. At least there's some upside. I still don't know what Cunningham does. Bring up Trotman. Hamilton looks lost. Chia should be traded at the deadline.

Panthers 1 point behind Bruins. Same games played. They still have to play each other three times this season!

The story I heard was Plekanec, Gorges, and a 1st rounder for Lecavalier. Gainey even got mad at Brian Lawton, for leaking the details, and called him out in his end of year presser.

Met Jim Craig last week at a minor league game in Pensacola.

I'm not usually one to be star struck, but meeting him was way cool.

You won the draft lottery what 3 times, and you still think it's a conspiracy to help teams with bad attendance?

not all drafts, this draft...McDavid is "generational" .. Edm, Buffalo don't need to put fans in their seats, Arizona and Carolina do...having a player like him on the team would instantly bring fans to the game, which is good for the NHL in general.. in the end, I don't give a shit who he plays for..as long as it's not the Flames..

also...took me awhile to reply...your sig is mesmerizing.

8-10 weeks??...back for the playoffs..sucks for him, Kane was attempting to become the first American-born player to win the NHL scoring title.

Is Buffalo in America?

Seriously, this sucks. One player doesn't make a hockey team, but Kane is damn important as a leader.

the nhl is a gate driven league. everyone's attendance matters.
i don't imagine that edmonton and buffalo sell out every game. no one gives a shit in arizona until the second round of the playoffs when the bandwagoners come out.

Jagr to Florida for a 2nd and 3rd round pick. A little bit of a steep payment if the Panthers don't make it to the playoffs. And on recent evidence it is the Bruins to lose.

And Toronto got rid of Clarkson!

All of them. He was the most important player when the Pens beat the Blackhawks in 92!
