They both suck. The difference being CHC has the pieces to acquire talent. SF doesn't.

Strasberg throws 6.2 hitless innings in return from DL and becomes first NL pitcher to go 11-0 since 1985.

Ryu nearing return...again.

Greinke to DL ( oblique ).

Nick Swisher to sit out rest of season. He says he's not retiring, but no one wants him. Expect a retirement announcement soon.

Marlins acquire Fernando Rodney from SD. Why?

Mets throttled a 4 game SWEEP over the already crowned World Champs. Didn't the Card's SWEEP them last week as well? Best team in baseball and their fans sweat and cry over every loss, I love the abuse they put themselves through if they don't win every game 10-0. The CubCakes are around 9 games up and they act like it's the Titanic. OMFG WTF! OMG our bull pen! OMG injuries! OMG our All-WORLD rotation!
Then the press turns every loss into a win story, it's a circus. Not to mention Da CUBS vs the AL in the All-Snub game. Is Trumph throwing out the first pitch?

First Baseman: Anthony Rizzo, Chicago Cubs
Second Baseman: Ben Zobrist, Chicago Cubs
Third Baseman: Kris Bryant, Chicago Cubs
Shortstop: Addison Russell, Chicago Cubs
Catcher: Yadier Molina, St. Louis Cardinals
Outfielders: Dexter Fowler, Chicago Cubs

Starter: Jake Arrieta, Chicago Cubs
Starter: Jon Lester, Chicago Cubs

I'd rather watch the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show then this years break.
Yes the CUBS will win it this year and it's going to be shit storm topped with a rainbow of gummy bears. Football season will be in gear by then thank god.

If you hurry over to ESPN! More coverage that Britexit. OMG, what will they do!
"Jake Arrieta on alert?
ESPN Baseball insider Buster Olney explains why Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta's production has dropped in his most recent starts and if there should be concern moving forward."

I liked it better when it was bandwagon KC.......I'm just busting chops, the overkill is annoying, all-star game joke and the fans are entertaining but really.......The Cubs suck!

Everybody is saying he's the best option, really?? There isn't one minor league pitcher that can give up less than 7 runs in 4 innings? Not one? If that's the case, the Red Sox are fucked for many years to come.
Give me 15 million and I'll be happy to give up an ERA of over 9 in the first inning.

They don't have one. Wright is becoming a badass, but Rodriguez and his lack of a secondary pitch screwed them. They were counting on his return. I thought a lack of a #2 was going to do them in. This year's FA pitching class is barren too.

*edit

SF's Sergio Romo activated from DL. Panik still out till ASB.

MFY send Eovaldi to bullpen.

Kris Bryant left today's game with a left leg contusion.

Jonathan Pappelbon activated from DL. Upon hearing the word "bullpen" used in a sentence Dusty Baker started drooling and pissed himself.

Reds dismissed pitching coach Mark Riggins and elevated BP coach Mark Jenkins.

Chris Sale probably to be AL starter for ASG.

After seeing what happened to Pedro in '99, I'm pretty much anti-ASG. It doesn't seem worth it to risk the pitcher's health, HR Derby fucking up hitter's timing, and fuck Selig for making it decide homefield.

CHC is really good on paper, but I'm not ready to crown anyone the WS Champs yet. That said it's hard to bet against them. We'll have a better idea of a lot of these team's fire after the All Star Break.

No one really jumps out at me yet although there are a few you have to be absurd to not see going far. Cleveland has been a surprise so far, etc.

CarGo has declared war on all opposing pitchers this season. While Cano's post-surgery rejuvenation has been rad to watch, Gonzalez is murderous.

CarGo has also let it be known he's open to a trade from Colorado.

I read Cespedes has recently taken up golf and in his short time has been told he's good at it......He's said it helps his muscle memory with the bat and thinks when he retires he wants a shot at the PGA.

I bet if he keeps it up he'll find out why most MLB players avoid golf. It's taboo, you don't mix the two. I couldn't do it, it's a shoulder drop curse from hell with a wicked case of the pop ups. That shit's like Beetlejuice. Don't go there. It scares me enough I'd sell Cespedes stock next season if not by the end of the year.

regarding the 2016 MLB all star game, WHO CARES!!! the only good thing about the game this year is the host city, san diego.
very fun town and some of the best beaches in the U.S.

i refuse to watch the HR derby. i refuse to tune in for the all star game with the inflated rosters and "everybody has to play" mentality.

I have a feeling he'll be yet another LAD player who matures and puts up some good years with someone else. If he gets traded I bet he'll spark that team then fall down again. He went right to the pros and was never groomed.

I'd run out his contract before letting him go.
He's proven he has the skills just not a brain cell to adjust from the boat to the US as quickly as he did and in that time he made enemies and all his supporters on the bench are in Boston or gone. You can almost tell by his body language when he steps in the box if he's going to get a hit or strike out. Bipolar one day, an aggressive swinger the next.

Give him a couple years and I bet he turns into a player if he can stay off the DL, but he's burned his bridge in LA. They better not give him up without getting good value which isn't likely. LAD desperately needs an outfield player/bat.

I sometimes wonder if they dangle him out there to wake him up or see if they can get someone in return.

Gincarlo Stanton wins the HR Derby blasting ( a derby record ) 61 HRs in 3 rounds. He hit the 10 longest homeruns and 18 of the 19 longest.

Stanton was the heavy favorite to win from everyone but me....apparently. I thought a rejuvenated ( and 2011 winner ) Cano or Carlos Gonzalez would be scarier. You know what? I don't know what thought. Sixty one. Fuckin' A.

The rumor around right now is Reddick to KC.
The OF is DOA.........No one is producing.

Carl Crawford was released, $35 million owed through 2017.

Joc Pederson still isn't cleared to swing a bat and hasn't hit his weight since last year before the break.

Either hasn't played all year and is still 3 weeks out at the earliest, who knows what he'll bring.

Enrique Hernandez is still on DL and hasn't been hitting his weight either.

Scott Van Slyke the life platooner is barely playing the Mendoza line since his DL stint

They've been reduce to putting Howie Kendrick in LF and platooning players like Trayce Thompson.

---------------------------

Eithier, LAD would rather be done with his 18m a year contract and I can't picture him bringing more to the team this late in the season than Pugy.

Simply put no one in the OF is producing or are on the DL just like the Starting Rotation, the only reason they're pondering trades for Pugy is to open a spot to bring up another fill in Starter.

LAD did the same thing last year, dangling Pugy out there to see if it would wake him up or at least get a reasonable offer but I see it more of a wake up call. They're in no hurry to release him. The down side is if he keeps dropping into a void and losing value. The Dodger brass don't think he'll ever regain his rookie year ability.

I didn't watch the All Star Game. I just read some tidbits about, watched some replays. There were a lot of touching tributes to Ortiz, it was kind of his day. Seeing it in the way I did helps me avoid having to listen to Joe Buck.

Madison "Kershaw may be the greatest pitcher of all time" ( hard to argue against it ) and Clayton were playing catch. In which SF 1B and 1st time All Star Brandon Belt responded: "I don't like it." While shaking his head. I can't find the video anywhere but it was pretty funny.

Kershaw owns Belt to a .065/.140/.067 slash line. That's 46AB 3H 12B 3BB 25K
 I wouldn't like it either.

- Yu Darvish expected to start Sat vs. Cubs
- MFY now saying Miller could be dealt. Cleveland has both a need and prospects to get it done.
- First half MVP Clayton Kershaw to begin throwing off mound.
