Yet another reason to hate Brazil.
Why the hate? What is supposed to say? We are trying our best...blah blah. Scolari is a specialist in motivation, manipulating the press, throwing out conspiracy theories etc. to get to his objective. By saying this he is driving the Brazilian fans crazy! He is a very intelligent man...he is playing his cards, bluffing pulling out all the stops...

One more point Thiago Silva jumps in front of the goalie once the ball was released from his hands and gets a yellow card and now is out of the semis. Fuckwad breaks Neymars back and it was play on...initially.
Because they are the most self entitled arrogant national football team.

It was a nothing challenge, Neymar was just unlucky. Brazil can't complain, they kicked Rodriguez all match. And the less said about Sideshow Bob the better....

Anyways, huge balls on Louis Van Gaal to replace keepers just before the penalties.

You know dithering Dave would not have had the balls to make those type of decisions.

Couldn't watch any of the other quarter finals, but seems like I didn't miss much result-wise. Although I'm a little curious about the Iron Sheik playing for Columbia.

Anyway, expectedly unpleasant teams in the last four. On the one hand, the playing level of the top teams suggests the best opportunity for a German trophy in forever - on the other hand, not beating Brazil under these circumstances has to be considered a major disappointment now. I'm afraid we'll either choke, or Löw produces some complete strategy clusterfuck in an attempt to be extra creative. Dream outcome would be throwing them out in their own country with Klose breaking Ronaldo's all-time goal record. Or at least Fred's legs.

What's your guesses about the final? If I tried to be objective, I could imagine Germany/Holland. However, factoring in crowd momentum and referee bias and it becomes less likely in my head. Argentina/Brazil might make for some good drama too, though. Hopefully on Saturday, of course.

Sorry, while I totally agree with on the Van Gaal comment.

That was not a nothing challenge. How can jumping into someone's back with your knee with no chance of playing the ball be called a nothing challenge?

Side show Bob? I am certain you got the players mixed up...I am talking about Thiago Silva and you seem to be commenting about David Luiz (who looks like Side show Bob yes).

But it will be a Brazil Argentina final. If that happens, well I guess go Argentina :?

It was a clumsy challenge, not a dirty one, bro. He didn't drive his knee into Neymars back, it was just unlucky where it hit. There are many worse challenges where players get away injury free. I'm not happy Neymars injured, the world cup needs it's best players, same with Di Maria. Brazil really needs him as this Brazil team is a shadow of it's former self. Fred is the worst Brazilian center forward I've seen since Serginho. Paulinho had a rough season at Spurs, and Mourinho at Chelsea quickly realised Luiz was a liability at the back. And that's just for starters.

My comment about Sideshow Bob was about how he was charging about the pitch looking to kick somebody. I didn't see Silvas booking "live", so I've only seen a clip of it which was short. I can't tell if he did it on purpose or not.

Agree Mickey on your assessment of Brazil. On paper, this looks like a stacked team (barring the strikers) but they have been very underwhelming. Can't say the Argies have been that great either. (Picked them to win it before it started). Honestly think this might be Germany's year.

I'm far from an expert, but 5-0 at the half is bad, right?

Holy shit. That was without a doubt the freakiest World Cup game I've ever witnessed. In a semi-final. Against Brazil. And Klose now tops the all-time scorer list.

Yep, pretty decent day in sports.

Not only is that /thread, it should be /forum. Brilliant.

Seriously, if that wasn't a back page headline SOMEWHERE in the world than sports journos aren't doing their jobs.

Poor from Van Gaal to pick Vlaar as the first pen taker. I reckon your best takers should be first and last. Then I think 2nd is next most important. Easy to see why Clieesen has never saved a pen in his whole career. Van Persie was horrible today. He apparently had some problem before the match, and hopefully Van Gaal will rest him for the 3rd place game.

Finally, I hope Germany smashes the Argies in the final.

Just read Van Gaal said 2 people declined to take the first kick, so maybe I've been a bit harsh on him.
