Late draw for Villa, Chelsea drop to fifth. Macheda might get loaned to Villa or Wigan.

And about time too, passion at last , and the team are getting back fitMickeyG wrote:Villa are actually putting up a fight today.
compare this team v Chelsea, Friedal, Cuellar, Dunne, Collins, Clark, Reo coker, Petrov, Downing, Young, Agbonlahor and Heskey
to the team for Arsenal a couple of weeks ago , which was Friedel, Lychaj, Clark, Dunne, Warnock, Bannon, Albrighton, Hogg, Downing, Delfounso, Heskey
and you will see that we may start picking some points up now , lets hope so , Albrighton is fantastic player but need a break!
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Albrighton was at part fault for Chelsea's third, but then he supplied the cross for Villa's third, so fair dues to him on that.

I have Albrighton as one of ManU's team on Fifa Manager.
Macheda is going to Italy. If Rooney gets injured, maybe Owen gets to play.

2 great goals against Stoke tonight, once again Nani pulls United out of the shit. Without him they would be fucked.

Clever goal by Hernandez, too bad Berbatov plays better with Rooney.

Leading with two points ahead with two games less than Citeh is pretty amazing, considering how mediocre the team has been this season. That said, it's quickly eaten away with draws if other teams win.
F.A. Cup on the weekend, let's see if Liverpool can shape up for a cup team.

Interesting statistic, almost 20 years ago Dalglish quit and Giggs started his career.

Babel ran his mouth on Twitter and now faces an FA probe. Hopefully a fine and a ban will follow.

Anything to keep him off the pitch. He sucks.MickeyG wrote:Babel ran his mouth on Twitter and now faces an FA probe. Hopefully a fine and a ban will follow.

Do you think he's been given a fair crack of the whip though, Jellyhead? Hodgeson rarely gave him a start, and Rafa seemed to lose confidence in him early. I think Liverpool have been crying out for some genuine width, could he supply it if given a run out wide? Although it might depend on Kenny's tactics. I expect Gerrard when available to be behind Torres from now on, and then it depends on what he decides to do in midfield.

I know he hasn't played much but his football skills are lacking. First touch and control are horrendous. Final ball is often woeful. True, we are in need of a wide player but I don't think Babel is it. Should have sold him to Brum when they offered 9million for him. Plus this is not the first time he has twittered himself into trouble. Until we get a true winger, I would play johnston (can't defend for toffee) at RM with Kelly at RB.MickeyG wrote:Do you think he's been given a fair crack of the whip though, Jellyhead? I am not too worried about Gerrard being out. When he was injured, Mereiles and Lucas played well together. The whole team though is in dire straits.-will take a lot to turn it around and get rid of this awful non style of football we have played since Houllier.
BTW- Giggs is total class- on and off pitch. Don't think I have seen a bad word against him (even on the Liverpool message boards)
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Yeah, I thought Kelly did a decent job considering he's supposed to be a center half. United tried to get at him with Giggs, and Giggs did have a good game but I thought Kelly didn't buckle like alot of young full backs would have. It was also tough for him having Evra in tandem with Giggs.
I expect Kenny to get you up the table a bit at least. I think he'll control Gerrard and Carra, and get more out of Torres. I think Steve Clark is a good addition.

He's always been my favourite ManU player. At first he seemed like a David Beckham-ish (before Beckham) character in the media, but that soon died down and he concentrated on the game. I remember seeing his football (school) program and thought he was thick. But he is just quiet, so all that other crap didn't suit him.jellyheadrobertson wrote:BTW- Giggs is total class- on and off pitch. Draw was a fair result today. Spurs held the ball but defense was solid.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
If United had defended like that away from home all season, all those draws they got would be wins. Poor decision for the sending off. Mike Dean was shit all match. Not a good ref.

Yeah, the second yellow wasn't necessary. Good it didn't matter in the end. Rafael has played well this season, he might even make a decent midfielder too.

I didn't see the game, but seems like Berbatov is two different players home and away.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
It's not just Berbatov, it's the whole team. The opposition also seem to collapse at OT whereas on their own pitch they try hard. Rooney looked up for it yesterday too. I hope Carrick's injury isn't too bad he's important away from home in protecting the back 4.

Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
What an unexpected thriller. Talk about bad day for defence. I'll take it back about Berbatov, what a comeback. Rafael's injury looked bad, but 10 minutes of extra time was outrageous. Referee was trying to help Blackpool.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
I didn't see any of it, although I followed it on the net at work. It's on tonight at 8, so I might watch some of it. Fuckin' lucky really, 2 down at half time away from home at a Prem team, you should really lose. Props to Giggs, apparently he came on for Gibson and helped change the game.

Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Yeah, Giggs and Hernandez made a difference. Now Hernandez and Berbatov worked well together. Strange that Rooney isn't missed and seems like a third choice striker now. He works a lot and could play as a midfielder, if they goals dry up for good. What's worrying that there's really noone at midfield to replace Giggs. Or Scholes.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Agreed about the midfield. Fergie will have to get the cheque book out.

torres making noises about going to chelsea. a £50m bid should seal it.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
A player just has to stamp his feet if he really wants a transfer. I'll be surprised if he moves to be honest.
