Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Finally it happened. Again poor defending and giving away headers. Ferdinand was missed. Poor passing throughout the game. Though it was a handball at Wolves box.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Would have been harsh that handball.
Shocking performance though. Was fine for the first 10 mins, then let them score and that was it. And all after Arsenal had made a meal of it against Newcastle. Very poor in midfield.

Chelsea were shite again today, and that's their challenge over for this season I think. Liverpool did a job on them by keeping it tight trying to counter. They didn't create much, but Maxi missed the sitter of the season. So really, they should have won by more. Not sure how Torres is gonna work with Drogba and Anelka. All 3 were poor IMO. Drogba should be let go at the end of the season, I reckon.

Yes, but the more important question is, who's the chick in your sig?SLASH1976 wrote:Read in the paper today that Chelsea is after Fabregas ?
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
More important than either question is that ahead of the United/Shitty game, Nani is in Argentina but Tevez isn't. Fucking bullshit, I tells ya.

Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Actually just found out Argentina/Portugal is in Switzerland, which makes sense as most of the players play in Europe. Over reaction, over! Phew!
What did I tell ya, Jelly, I said Kenny would get Liverpool up the table a bit. Maybe a late challenge for 4th spot? I'd chuckle if they did it at Chelsea's expense...as long as United win the league of course.

Fourth might be a stretch, I would be happy with Europa this year. I can't see Spurs dropping too many points to allow Liverpool to catch up. The team is playing for Kenny. It's actually pleasant to watch. Still a ways to go but a far cry from Rafa and Woy. I think United will win the league but they definitely need a creative midfielder and the defense needs a fine tune. As long as Pepe doesn't become your next goalie-God forbid.MickeyG wrote:What did I tell ya, Jelly, I said Kenny would get Liverpool up the table a bit. Maybe a late challenge for 4th spot? Well now they are bringing in Shefki "The Sheriff" Kuqi to replace Carroll. Kuqi was released from Swansea less than a month ago. Is relegation still possible?Hellsinkey wrote:Very overpriced for six months at PL. Though he was their best, interesting of Newcastle to sell him now as they're fighting for getting into Euro games. Well, there's always relegation... And he said he was pushed for move. Interesting Chelsea- Liverpool on the weekend, with Torres shooting off his mouth too. This became interesting.pieceofme wrote:£35 milllionHellsinkey wrote:Interestingly Andy Carroll goes to Liverpool and Torres is about to move.

Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
I think the defense is fine as long as Evans doesn't play. Most United fans agree that a creative central midfielder is needed to replace Scholes, but if it was up to me, I'd ship Fletcher and Carrick too, as well as Gibson. Anderson should be given more games to see if he can step up. Fergie won't give him a run. Carrick has been better this season, but not consistent enough. Fletcher has been shite all season, and is just a clogger, IMO.jellyheadrobertson wrote: I think United will win the league but they definitely need a creative midfielder and the defense needs a fine tune. Agreed. I'd lose the midfield except Nani and Anderson and buy new players. Giggs and Scholes have maybe a year in them.MickeyG wrote:I'd ship Fletcher and Carrick too, as well as Gibson. Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Yeah, Giggs and Scholes have earned the right to retire when they decide. I wouldn't be surprised if Scholes calls it a day after this season, while Giggs stays for another. I don't think either will stay around more than they should, I think they know their limits. Gary Neville in hindsight probably should have called it quits last season, but injuries really took a toll on him, and I think a player should carry on as long as he can within reason as they're a long time retired.Hellsinkey wrote: Agreed. Rooney's goal was fantastic, one of the best of the season. Good pass from Giggs for the first. Citeh got one luckily off the back of Silva.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Nani is Uniteds most important player. Nice bounce back after last weeks debacle.

He's always been a total prick. I'm not sure if it was someone from Spurs bench he pushed. Nice touch from Flamini of fucking up Spurs' player's leg and then showing the referee that they're wasting time.SLASH1976 wrote:Anybody see the AC Milan - Spurs game ?

Looks like Gattuso strangled him and tried to headbutt him. He will be out of next game for yellow, but maybe he'll get more. So should Flamini, it was a nasty two footed tackle.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
And Le Arse beat Barca, whatever next. I wonder if the rest of the Arsenal team are asking Cesc in the dressing room why he want's to join that shower of Spanish shite?
Should be a good return leg at Camp Nou.

1-0 against Crawley at OT isn't very impressive, they nearly equalized in the end too. Will be much tougher against Marseille.

Pretty much a second team. Plus we struggle against teams like this quite a bit in the FA cup.Hellsinkey wrote:1-0 against Crawley at OT isn't very impressive, they nearly equalized in the end too. Will be much tougher against Marseille.
I'm confident of United beating Marseille over a two leg tie.

I'm still shocked with what has happened with Chelsea's season. Thought they would run away with the league, plus be a strong contender for the cups. At this rate they will probably be knocked out by Copenhagen in the Champions League.SLASH1976 wrote:Chelsea out of the FA cup against Everton on penalties
Of course if makes me very happy.

Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
The bad news for United with Chelsea losing is that the rearranged league game for March 1st will not be postponed now. This gives a run of games like this; Marseille (a), Wigan (a), Chelsea (a), Liverpool (a). Also, they'll put more effort into the United league game as they've no FA cup to worry about.
