In bold, who I think would win. Tampa to knock out the final Canadian team!

Yeah I was real happy about that. I don't think Devils will make it in the end, but finally got some help!

The difference between a pretty good team and a great team is illustrated every time they play Boston.

I'd bet Montreal in that series. Damn them.

Columbus, Phoenix and Dallas are the teams to follow this week. It's been awhile.

The Jackets win, so the Jackets are in.

Still some possible room to move up.

As of last night, I guess it's officially Mets season. They'll make the playoffs. Right? Guys??

Ryan Malone took his emulation of Kevin Stevens one step too far :

http://www.thehockeynews.com/blog/repor ... i-charges/

Ryan Malone of the Tampa Bay Lightning has been arrested on charges of cocaine possession and driving under the influence.

Malone was arrested early Saturday morning in Tampa, according to a report in the Tampa Bay Times from beat writer Damian Cristodero.

“We are aware of the situation concerning Ryan Malone this morning,” Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman said in a statement. “Ryan will not travel with the team to Washington today, but beyond that we cannot comment further at this time.”

The 34-year-old power forward has one more season remaining on a contract that will pay him $2.5 million next year.

Malone has struggled this season with just five goals and 15 points through 57 games.

He was being held on $2,500 bond, according to the report.

Bruins were 1-3 vs Detroit this year. Time to break out the Jack.

@TSNBobMcKenzie: NHL East playoffs: BOS-DET; TB-MTL (home ice TBD); PIT-CBJ; NYR-PHI. Winners of BOS-DET/TB-MTL meet in 2nd rd. Winners of PIT-CBJ/NYR-PHI.

I said to a friend last night that despite being the President's trophy winner, the B's can't be happy that their "reward" is a date with the Red Wings, followed potentially by another with the Habs.

PS - Anaheim/Dallas is now set as a match-up, as well as San Jose/LA. Just waiting to see who Minny and Chicago play (between Colorado and St-Louis). It's incredible after the years they had that one of the Avalanche, Blues, or Hawks will lose in the first round.

Christ. Philly vs NYR. I guess on the bright side only one of those teams will make the second round. I guess I'll pull for Philly if nothing else but to shut up all the NY hogs in my place of employment about "the King", etc.

We had the same problem the last (only) time we made the playoffs. Detroit and their octopi.

One guy that tried it did get jumped before he could throw it.

The only bright side is I may get extra tickets and will have no issue gouging Pens fans.

In terms of all visiting teams, Buffalo fans are by far the worst. It's as if Mississippi has a team.

Price too - though he was stellar late in 3rd and it OT.

Habs dominated the Bolts and the score did not represent the flow of the game.

Mission accomplished: win one in Tampa. Now let's see if we can steal a 2nd.

Markov, who looked slow all season, was positively snail-like last night, and it's only game one!...no way they go far with him taking a regular shift.

For better or worse, Markov, Emelin, Gorges, and Subban (who I'm convinced is hurt) are going to play big minutes. The injuries have taken away Markov's mobility, but he is a smart player. Stamkos will make anyone look slow, though.
