Mets DFA Matt Harvey.

Didn't see that comin.'

LAD throws a 4 pitcher no-hitter ( first in team's history ) in Mexico against the Padres.
Buehler, Cingrani, Garcia, Libertore.

Gerrit Cole strikes out 16 ( tied with Paxton for mlb lead ) over D-backs.

Albert Pujols hits 3,000. Joining Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Alex Rodiguez* as the only players in mlb history with 3k hits and 600 homeruns.

He released a statement that it was prescribed in the DR by his doctor there. Furosemide isn't a PED, but is banned by mlb.

He says he's going to accept the suspension. I would fight it if I was him. Seattle ( especially after Paxton's nohitter ) has been looking good this year.

With a 5 game win streak, Seattle gains a 2 game lead in the AL West. They are playing really good ball without Cano.

How about the NL West.....I only check from time to time but did watch the LAD vs COL series recently
A couple days ago the: Rockies, Dodgers and Giants were 1.5 behind the Dbacks. Now AZ pushed LAD and SF 2.5 back while the Rockies continue to slide to 3.5.

Even the lowly Padres are 5.5 behind but I'm starting to have a little hope. Still think AZ takes the division.

-----------------

The Dodger report..........
The Dodgers set the record for the most players on the disabled list in 2016, and backed it up with an MLB-high 38 total DL stints in 2017.
That trend has continued in 2018 as the Dodgers have already placed eleven different players on the DL in the first six weeks of the season. As of today's date, injuries have made fourteen different players miss a total of 429 days on the DL, totaling nearly $18 million in salary spent towards injured players.

Four of the five Dodgers opening day starters Hyun-Jin Ryu, Rich Hill, Kenta Maeda, and Clayton Kershaw are on the DL....Number one prospect, Walker Buehler, took a line drive off the ribs on May 21, and hasn't been the same since.

Dennis Santana, the Dodgers tenth best prospect as determined by MLB.com before the season began, ascended through the ranks of the farm system and was promoted to the Major Leagues last week...Pitched 3.2IP and is now on the 60DL.

P Dennis Santana 60-day DL
P Tony Cingrani 2nd time on the DL
P Clayton Kershaw pulled after 5IP and back on the DL
P Kenta Maeda DL might come back within a week
P Rich Hill DL another week so far.
P Julio Urias DL after the break
p Hyun-Jin Ryu DL after the break
p Tom Koehler 60 DL

Then of course Corey Seager out for the season, Turner's played 20 games. Logan Forsythe 33 games...Chase Utley just got off 10.

I pulled up the depth chart it said
Starting Pitcher
1. Alex Wood
2. Walker Buehler
3. Ross Stripling

The irony of it all, Matt Kemp leads the team in Hits, RBI's and AVG.
Matt Kemp 69H, 16 2B, 10 HR, 41RBI's, 11HR, .338AVG

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I did pull up the standings I seen the M's....................GO M's! They'll screw it up somehow but I'd like to see them take the division.

Like I was thinking before the season. The only thing holding back Seattle could be health. If the King continues to learn how to pitch without throwing upper 90s, he and Paxton could really be something.

The’re doing this without Cano, who was told he won’t be the fulltime 2B when he returns

Miggy Cabrera out for season with torn bicep.

Otani possibly having Tommy John. I saw this shit coming. I was hoping my teams stayed away.

Cueto close to returning to SF. They haven’t had a full roster all season and have managed to hover around .500. I want to see the West heat up.

Kind of like how I want to see Harper get downed by Atlanta or the MFY to learn that it doesn’t matter how many powerhitters you have if your pitching is average. Stupid Yankees.

This thread's a sleeper...........

Bum reaches 1,500 K's...In 1,534 1/3 innings. The ninth-fastest lefty to reach the mark in the live ball era starting in 1920.
Bum 7.0IP 2H 0ER 8SO Punched out the first batter of the game, DJ LeMahieu just became the 1,500th to sit the fuck down.
Giant's Crawford walk off HR 1-0 vs Rock's.....Rockies finally get in a pitching match and still lose.
I've watched the Rockies give up more games late, if they had anyone in the PEN they'd be dangerous. They have to be near the bottom.

Muncy's homer went over the wall and bounced back off Albert Almora Jr.'s melon. That's how to toss a HR back Cubs Fans! LAD 7 CUB 5
https://www.mlb.com/gameday/cubs-vs-dod ... ame=530600
I like letting MLB video loop and run around the leagues highlights.....Skip all the yap.

Fuck I wished AZ would go on a losing streak. They're playing strong as the West remains hot. Have you seen the D-Backs Batting AVG. SO. OBS?

The M's are still amazing me but like always I feel they'll find a way to fold sooner than later. No jinx.

-------------------------------------

This thread is like going to a Marlins game. 26.8% attendance 30th!....Go Mattingly and Jeter group!
29. Tampa - 42.8%
28. Oakland - 44.2%

I doubt I'll be around much longer. zzzzzzzzzzzz

Not even a mention of Atlanta? You'd think they'd be cooling off by now? Too soon? Haven't read into it but, that's some weird goings on.

I’ve been pretty busy

I like what I see in Seattle. I think ( health permitting ) they’re finally playing to their potential ( without Cano ) and don’t see them letting up. Segura, Hanniger, Cruz and Gamel are swinging well. Plus, Mike Leake is pitting Quality Start after QS.

I was never sold 100% on Anaheim. While Ohtani was a cool story, bidding rights on Japanese pitchers should come with a Tommy John clause now. I knew he was hitting the DL and soon.

The biggest rumours around right now is LAD is the favorite to land Manny Machado. Yeah, they have the money and prospects for such a rental, which will be all he is. Seager will return. Kershaw ain’t exactly a workhorse and their staff is pretty underwhelming behind him. Ask the MFY how having nothing but bats has worked out.

I think the NL West is going to become a brawl and soon. SF is playing winng ball and has donenit without their full squad. Bumgarner is back, Cueto, Melancon, Shmardjzia, and Strickland ( as a setup ) haven’t played a game together yet. Plus, Greinke went to AZ for a reason. They’re a lot better than we’ve seen.

Carlos Correa to 10 Day DL. That’s possibly the only thing to cool off Houston.

Ohtani might return as a DH.

I heard Kershaw is over LA and wants to go to Texas ( I don’t know if it’s Astros or Rangers ) to be close to home.

AL wins their 6th straight All Star game when Dodgers pitcher Ross Stripling gave up a game tying 10 inning HR to Astros George Springer, and then a walkoff HR to Astros ( ASG MVP ) Alex Bregman.

Manny Machado to Dodgers deal reportedly happening. Pitching schmitching.

Dodgers rent Manny Machado from Baltimore for Yusniel Diaz ( top prospect ), Dustin May, and Errol Robinson. They’re really going all in for that elusive ring. Really with the unexpected production from Kemp, Muncy, and a loaded farm. Might as well. Pitching, pitching, pitching.

A’s aquire Familia from Mets for LHP Bobby Wahl and 3B Will Toffey. I believe they also gave NY a million in salary room. Man, have the Wilpon’s ran them into the ground. Oakland is 4 games back from the WC. They don’t have a as well of a chance as when they got Lester from Boston though.

James Paxton set to return from DL for Seattle.

With their lack of quality arm's I don't see it as a win for LAD, they're banking on the wave of average pitchers soon to be coming of the DL. Facing the 3 power AL teams it's going to be tough for the NL to win the WS....Someone in the NL is going to get spanked.

On the flip side this is one of the stronger line ups they've had....EVER....Watching Pizza, Karros and Mondesi going back to back to back at Coors or even the days of Lopes, Cey and Garvey fall short.
Pitching and defense has always been Dodger ball so it's weird for me. They've built up a number of 20+HR hitters with a couple who can play long ball.

If LAD had the same staff as last season "minus Darshit" with this line up it might be a fight. I guess it's cool LAD is still content on trying to win the division, could be worse. Still think AZ wins the West but this makes it interesting...Not to mention the Rocks and Balco Giants are still around making it resemble the ending of The Hobbit.

Is it me or is stealing bases a lost art? Who plays small ball anymore?

Nah. That’s Yankeehomer Ken Rosenthal wet dream stuff. Won’t happen.

They did just get Happ from Toronto for some low level prospects though.

Aaron Judge out 3 weeks with a wrist fracture.

Houston aquires Martin Maldonado.

Cole Hammels on his way to Cubs from TX. I don’t know the details yet.

Washington might be sellers on a Harper rental. Will announce next week.

*ETA

Brewers land Mike Moustakas from KC for prospects.

Astros aquire Ryan Pressly from Minnesota.

Harper is available in trade. I don’t see a rental happening on a dide that’s probably going to command 400m + next year.

Edwin Diaz second quickest pitcher to 40 saves ( 106 games ) behind Francisco Rodriguez ( 98 games, 2008 ).

Red Sox score Ian Kinsler and cash from Angels for RHP Buttrey, LHP Williams, and 2 top 30 prospects.

Braves get Adam Duval from Reds for RHP Sims, LHP Wisler, and OF Tucker.

He’s only been effective for a few innings. I think he can still a good pitcher since he still has control, that sinker, and changeup, but he needs to adjust to no longer having that fastball.

The M’s rotation has been decent and Paxton has looked like an ace all season.

Kind of bummed ( although I understand ) about the King, I’ve always been such a fanboy.
