Correa to Twins in basically a 1 year deal

Seems Boras told Houston it was a 10 year deal or going to another team on a short term deal with an immediate opt out

Houston didn’t want to go through this again next spring I guess

Anyway I understand not wanting to give an injury prone
player a 10 year deal, but this hurts

His deal is 3/105m with opt-outs I believe.

The people it really hurt it looks like are Yankee fans. The sites I've seen are filled with rage. The audacity of a star player that NY fans want signs with another team. How dare he.

A lot of these deals are surprising. I'm still blown away at the deal Bryant got.

FOX changed who tossed out the first pitch in the Giants game! They showed Kurt Bush who tossed out the first pitch from the day before? LOL bate n switch! Jeopardy's first trans champ Amy Schneider was sucker fooled....She tossed out the first pitch while FOX showed Kurt from the prior game....I don't know what to think of today's planet.

80 games....For using the skin rub Clostebol, a banned anabolic steroid.
David Ortiz: “MLB needs to have some regulations before they made public news like the one that happened to Tatis Jr. I think they haven’t handled this situation the right way. We can’t kill our product, we're talking about an amazing player"
Pedro Martinez = Believes the MLB is partly to blame for Tatis.
I wondered who'd be the first to circle the wagons around Tat, come on guys. What's the Pades going to do with 35,000 canceled Bobbleheads set for Sept 7? Juan Soto Jersey give away!

Walker Buehler = Dodger$ said he was playing catch Monday and also said he's done for the year.

Mookie wanna play catch? https://twitter.com/MadChoriyama/status ... 3056019458

Pirates, Rodolfo Castro's phone fell out while diving into third......Gets a ONE game suspension. PHONE HOME! PHONE HOME!

It immediately was, and Jeter didn’t even crack a smile.".....It reopened the why Jeter hates Nim-Rod saga...Good Games.

2023 MLB rule changes

MLB batting average is down to .243 this season, the lowest since 1968. A lack of singles is at 5.35 per team the fourth-lowest in MLB history -- and the 2021, 2020 and 2019 seasons filling the three spots ahead of this year on the all-time list. "Guess when you screw with the BALL and teach launch angles, more pulling and how not to slap this happens?" "Maybe increase when you can give up and put more position players on the mound?"

The rules include a first-ever pitch clock, the elimination of the shift, bigger bases and a limit to how many times a pitcher can step off the rubber....

Pitch clock: Pitchers will have 15 seconds to throw a pitch with the bases empty and 20 seconds with a runner on base. Hitters will need to be in the batter's box with eight seconds on the pitch clock. If not thrown in 15 seconds it's a ball, if not in the box within 8 seconds it's a strike.

Pitcher: After 3 Step OFF's it's a balk
Shift: 4 players on the dirt with 2 on each side of the bag before a pitch is tossed
15" bases now come in 18" Panda size

Aaron Judge hits his 56th and 57th home runs tonight at Fenway. Will he break Roger Maris' (American League) record?

Will Pujols hit 700?

I have more faith Pujols will hit 700 over Judge breaking Maris' record. I'm pulling for both of them though. They're both not divisive players that everyone kinda likes.

Pujols is possibly the last in a very long time to hit 700. The only other player people thought was a lock to do it ( Trout ) can't stay healthy. I'm really hoping he hits 700, because of that. Plus, to my knowledge his name was never on any PED suspected lists, etc.

Insane! Honestly, I thought he might come up just short after cooling off the past few games (7-8 game homerless streak), and how horrible would that be if he finished with 699?

What a player. What a career!

https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/346 ... ure-rewind

Probably the last time we'll ever see a player hit 700 home runs (injuries, early retirements/sabermetrics, etc.).

I agree, but I think Judge will win it if I was going to bet on it. Just some polls I've seen around, but Ohtani deserves it... 200 K's as a pitcher, and 34+ home runs and 89+ RBI as a hitter? Never been done in our lifetimes and never will again either.

They are both having incredible seasons, but only one plays for the Yankees.

Here's an age old MVP rhetorical. Who do you pick in 1941?

Joe Dimaggio and his 56 game hit streak ( 9.4 WAR ) or Ted Williams and .406 ( 10.4 WAR )?

Williams led Dimaggio ( and all of MLB ) in almost every offensive catagory in 1941 and '42.

Williams: WAR, Offensive WAR, Batting Average, OBP, Slugging, On Base+Slugging, Runs Scored, HR, Base On Balls, Ajusted OPS+, Runs Created, Adjusted Batting Runs, Adjusted Batting Wins, Times On Base, Adjusted Win %, IBB, AB per HR, Base-Out Runs Added, Win Probability Added, Situ. Wins Added, Base-Out Wins Added

Dimaggio: Total Bases, RBI, and Extra Base Hits.

Who you got?

Judge hits HR #62 making him the AL leader.

Pretty cool and I'm happy for Judge. Plus, this means we can finally stop having to hear Roger Maris Jr.'s opinion on the hunt. That fucking guy is more insufferable than Joe Buck.

That said, the Dodgers had it over the Padres all season and will be starting the NLDS with their aces.

LA in 4
Braves in 5
Astros in 3
Yankees in 4
