Yeah. We drafted Sam Bowie 2.0
And Nate McMillan looks like Carl Winslow from Family Matters.
Damn you Greg Oden

Durant was SO the obvious pick there. I haven't seen that big a drafting error since Grant Hill slipped to 3rd in the draft after Glenn Robinson and Bradley.Rainbow Bright wrote:Yeah. We drafted Sam Bowie 2.0

He's like the Liberace of bass & pot.

No shit. They were calling Oden, Bowie before he was Bowie. In other news Kevin Durant is still playing.
Oh and the Grant Hill wasn't the biggest drafting error. It was Sam Bowie being picked over Micheal Jordan and Akeem Olajawan.

I was a big fan of that Bucks team. They also had a young Tim Thomas who could shoot. And Sam Cassell was awesome during that period. Ray Allen was also great during that period, but Reggie Miller was a bastard and helped eliminate the Bucks in the Playoffs.AliceSavage wrote:Grant Hill is the most overrated player of the past 25 years. He took Milwaukee to an Eastern Conference finals. Someplace they hadn't been since Kareem and haven't been since Glenn left.
Problem was...Glenn was never going to be Jordan/Duncan as a #1 pick...he was Scottie Pippen. Ray Allen wasn't really a true #1 either but together the Bucks almost won it all.
Grant Hill sucks. And I think Jason Kidd was the other play at the top of that draft..not Bradly.

I don't think you can blame Greg Oden for Portland's troubles. Blame the ownership and their inability to field ( or draft apparently ) a good team.
